Our first Calgary Stampede experience did not disappoint!

👑 One Royal Rey and owner Brad Dovell taking home the Non Pro Bridle Reserve Championship. We are so proud of this pair!
Royal also placed 3rd with Anna in the Open Bridle. Between the 2 runs this gelding added $5,000 to his LTE!

⭕️Justaboutthere in the Open Hackamore took everything in stride and finished mid pack. Proud of this 4 yr old for handling the Wild West of the Stampede well.

🍒 Lee Cayer & Cher Is Ozzum had a solid run in the Non Pro Boxing with a 144.5 on their cow!

🔸Jennifer Dovell and Cielos Hope also had a very consistent run in the Non Pro Boxing!

The last few weeks have been a horse show marathon!

ASHA Stampede Qualifier Show

▪️ Kenny and Justaboutthere had their show debut placing 3rd Day 1 and 5th Day 2 in a massive 750 limit non pro cutting class! Super proud of these 2 for finding their groove

Cowtown Derby
🔸 Anna and Justaboutthere 1st place L1 Derby reined work, tie for 1st L1 Derby herdwork. We didn’t have the fence work we hoped for but still tied for 3rd overall in the L1 Open Derby.
“Stitch” also brought home the Limited Open Hackamore championship, overall adding $2,000 to his LTE.

We had a busy weekend kicking off the competition season! We spent Friday and Saturday at the Olds Classic Horseshoeing competition, where Kenny put in a lot of hours coaching, striking and competing.
On Sunday we headed to Silver Slate for the ARCHA Roger Heinz Memorial Schooling Show to prepare for this coming show season. . It was good to get back at it on both sides of the horse!

It was a good day catching up with some familiar Canadian faces (now Texans). Kenny spent close to 4 years in apprenticeship with Matt and James Findler. To now watch Matt be a part of team WCB with some of the top farriers in North America is a full circle moment.

We got to cheer on this pair yesterday in the limited non pro boxing prelims here in Ft. Worth! Lee Cayer and Cher is Ozzum scored a 142.5 rein/141.5 cow. Although it wasn’t quite enough to make it back to finals we are incredibly proud of this duo. From beginning their Cowhorse journey only one short year ago to showing on the biggest stage the reined cowhorse has to offer. They have chased their dreams down relentlessly and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.
