Leash-Free Halton Hills - Dog Park, Acton Welcome To Acton's Offleash Dog Park
Acton Ontario, Canada Owners may face charges under the Dog Owners Liability Act if a dog displays aggressive behaviour.

Located behind the tennis courts, enjoy the shade of mature trees and a picturesque view of Fairy Lake while your dog runs and plays.

¨ No leashes inside the leash free zone. Remove collars with chains or spikes–other dogs can be hurt while playing.

¨ Watch your dog closely and be ready to take control of any situation. You are responsible for yo

ur dog.

¨ “Scoop the Poop” and put the bag in the garbage can.

¨ Allow dogs off leash only within the designated area (you can be fined up to $5,000.00 if your dog is off leash in the parking lot or outside the fenced / designated area).

¨ Dogs should be fully vaccinated before entering the leash-free area. Puppies should have their 12-week shots and should be at least 4 months old before coming to a leash-free park.

¨ Never use the leash-free area when your dog is in heat.

¨ It is recommended that you not bring toys/frisbees to the leash-free zones (they can cause problems between dogs).

¨ No children under 12 unaccompanied by an adult

Aggressive Dogs

If a dog becomes aggressive it should be removed from the Leash-Free area. If you encounter problems, call Animal Control at (905) 877-6235. Details re dog, owner, car description, regular time at the park will help the Animal Control officer resolve the situation. This Leash Free Zone is operated by Leash Free Halton Hills in cooperation with the Town of Halton Hills

🐾 Exciting News: Prospect Park Leash-Free Final Design is Live!

The final plan for the Prospect Park Leash-Free Area upgrades has been posted on Let's Talk Halton Hills!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the surveys and planning sessions. Based on community feedback, the Town's plan balances a wide-open running lawn with a longer looping pathway, while introducing a new separate small-dog area, improved drainage, and a water filling station.

What You Need to Know:

🗳️ Final Chance to Comment: Before construction drawings are completely finalized, there is one last opportunity to review the layout and share your thoughts, questions, or concerns on the project page.

🚧 Temporary Closure: Construction is scheduled to begin this fall right after the Acton Fall Fair. While Prospect park will remain open, the leash-free dog area will be closed during this period to keep the construction timeline as short as possible. 🐕

Alternative Parks: While Acton's leash-free dog park is getting its makeover, you can take your pups to the Town's other leash-free facilities at Trafalgar Sports Park and Cedarvale Park.
