Wow… 4 years already!!
Four years ago I took a leap that honestly scared me more than I ever admitted out loud. Taking over Matsqui Stables January 2022 , came with long days, sleepless nights, moments of doubt, and a whole lot of learning as I went. It hasn’t always been easy — but it has always been worth it.
Alongside the barn, Vista Equine was also finding its feet in 2023 - Stepping into the coaching world as a new coach in this industry pushed me in ways I never expected. I’ve learned, grown, made mistakes, and worked endlessly to become the kind of coach my riders deserve.
What started as a vision has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. Matsqui is more than just a barn — it’s a place where horses are cared for, riders are supported, friendships are built, and people feel safe to grow at their own pace.
My goal as a coach has always been to give kids and riders as much education as possible. Whether their dreams are to simply care for their horse confidently and independently, or to step into the show ring, I want every student to feel capable, knowledgeable, and empowered. I truly believe that learning to be an independent rider is one of the greatest gifts we can give them.
To everyone who has walked through these doors — whether you stayed for a season or made this your long-term home — thank you. You trusted me with your horses, your kids, your goals, and a piece of your journey, and that means more than I can put into words.
I set out to create a safe, happy environment for horses and riders of all levels, and looking around today, I truly believe we’ve built that together.
