Christmas is the time of the year when hardly anyone has extra money. More money is spent in December than any other time of the year - house repairs, upgrading appliances, gifts, vacations, special dinners and many other reasons why there are no extra dollars. For the people in animal rescue, December is rough. Shelters and animal rescues can only function because of the people out there who believe in what we do and make donations that transform into food and vet care for our kitties and doggies until they get adopted. Although we had 7 adoptions this month, we still have over 60 cats and 20 dogs to feed and care for, and new ones coming in every few weeks.
Our latest intake, unfortunately, found himself under the hood of a pickup truck where he recieved severe burns from the hot engine. He is recovering and will also need a home when he recovers. A real star is Jewel, our ginger tabby mama who survived being thrown out with her kittens in a bucket on the side of a dirt road in Ladyville. All 3 kittens from her litter have been adopted and the second litter of orphaned kittens she also raised are now looking for their own homes. Please share to friends who may want to donate or adopt Jewel, Spook, or one of the kittens. If you have any questions about adopting or donating, whatsapp is 666-0872.
