DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY SERVICES URGES FARMERS TO JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST FOOT AND MOUTH

Farmers in Kgatleng, Ramotswa, Tlokweng, Barolong Farms and Kgalagadi District have been urged to be in the lookout for any symptoms of foot and mouth disease in their cattle.

This follows an outbreak of FMD in the neighbouring South Africa along villages sharing a border with Botswana.

Ministry of Lands and Agriculture, Acting Director-Department of Veterinary Services, Dr Kobedi Segale further urged communities in these villages to ensure that cordoned fences separating the two countries are still intact to minimise movement of cattle from one country to another.
