🎨 Histopathologist's Palette 2: The Movat Pentachrome Edition 🖌️
Modified Movat's stain is a stain developed by Henry Zoltan Movat in 1955. It is a mix of 5 stains that are used to highlight the various constituents of connective tissue especially in the lung, developing/healing bone and cardiovascular tissue.
In general it stains nuclei and elastic fibers (black/dark purple); type I collagen fibers (yellow), ground substance and mucus (blue), muscle and fibrin (red).
