* Pioneiro no Implante de Lentes Acrílicas Dobráveis após Cirurgia de Catarata pela Facoemulsif**ação em animais no Sul do País.

* Realizou cirurgias de catarata com lentes intraoculares customizadas em animais silvestres como Tigres (No Brasil e no Zoológico da Austrália) e Macacos Bugio.

* Curso de especialização de Cirurgia de Vítreo e Retina pela European Vitreoretinal Society (EVRS), na Oftalmologia Humana, em Bremen, Alemanha em 2016.

* Fundador da Vetweb Oftalmologia Veterinária, primeiro centro de Curitiba dedicado exclusivamente à Oftalmologia Veterinária nos animais.

Image obtained with a contact lens utilized in retinal surgeries, right after Phacoemulsif**ation in a total posterior luxated lens. This is an important step at the end of the surgery in order to check for lens fragments that might have been dropped into the vitreous during the surgery. If any lens material is identified they should be recovered and emulsified using the vitrector unit.

This is a Morgagnian cataract in a 3-year-old Maltese where the lens cortex has been absorbed leaving the hard nucleus sedimented inside the capsule. In the picture it is highlighted the anterior lens capsule wrinkles that formed because of the lens shrinkage. Care must be taken during capsulorhexis cause there is a higher chance of posterior lens capsule rupture. A good trick is to make a small hole in the anterior capsule using a small gage needle and reinflate the capsular bag with viscoelastic before proceeding the surgery.

Corneoscleral transposition (often performed as a corneoconjunctival transposition) is an advanced veterinary surgical procedure used to treat deep corneal ulcers, perforations, and sequestra (especially in cats and brachycephalic dogs).

It involves sliding a healthy, attached flap of the patient's own peripheral cornea and adjacent conjunctiva to cover and repair the defect.

This autologous (self-tissue) flap provides excellent structural support ("tectonic support"), protects against globe rupture, and brings its own blood supply to accelerate healing without the risk of foreign tissue rejection.

Because the surgeon utilizes the patient's own tissue, the central visual axis remains as clear as possible, resulting in signif**antly better vision preservation and less scarring than traditional conjunctival flaps.

Shih-tzu de 5 anos de idade com descolamento total de retina (regmatogênico) bilateral algumas semanas após cirurgia de catarata com implante de lente intraocular. Essa raça possui uma degeneração (liquefação) precoce do vítreo onde f**a extremamente líquido e com o chacoalhar violento da cabeça ao brincar com bichinhos de pelúcia o turbilhonamento do vítreo causa estas lesões por rasgadura. É a maior casuística de cirurgia de retina aqui no nosso serviço. Tem um Shih-tzu ou atendeu um? Instrua os proprietários a tirar esta mania deles.

A two-year-old Shih-tzu presented with a total retinal detachment, which occurred secondary to vigorous head shaking during play. This particular breed is predisposed to early vitreous degeneration (vitreous syneresis), leading to liquefaction of the vitreous humor. In such cases, the primary therapeutic approach to potentially restore some degree of vision involves surgical intervention, specif**ally total pars plana vitrectomy combined with laser retinopexy.
