Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre A safe haven for rescue cats and dogs 🐱🐶 The main role of the Centre, is the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected and abandoned animals in Bahrain.

There are currently close to 360 dogs and close to 140 cats all in need of loving care. The number of incoming animals is ever increasing, especially during these unsettled times and very hot summer months. Our services include:
• Animal rescue
• Animal rehabilitation
• Education
• Re homing
• Fund raising

We have a

charity shop, The Dogfather's Second Hand Shop, in Saar at which
donations of furniture, clothes, books, toys, household items etc are sold to
help pay for rent, food, medical expenses, salaries for staff at the Centre. Location to the shop is:

Shop open everyday between 10am - 12pm except Mondays and 5-7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays

We also hold fund raising events and participate at fairs, school festivals, charity sales etc to help with the running costs of the rescue centre. We continue our efforts to educate children and adults in the proper care of
animals. Our Open Days are on Friday/Saturday which includes information and activities on animal welfare. 4 pm - 6 pm

We offer an adoption service or a sponsorship program to meet the needs of
each animal looking for a new home and welcome volunteers to walk,
pet and play with our animals. We have built many links with local schools that often set up fund raising
projects to collect food or help out at the centre as part of Community Service programs. If you would like to volunteer, to walk dogs, or socialise with the animals then please message us to book slots to come along on Friday/Saturday between 10:00am and 13:00pm.

Help with vet bills please 🙏🏽

Lisa suffered a horrendous injury when she got her leg caught in her kennel door. The wound was so deep her bones could be seen. She was rushed to the clinic where she was made comfortable and the vets got to work on closing her wound and make sure it heals completely 👏🏽

Ollie needed dental scaling and to stay on hepatic supplemental plan to make sure he is healthy and doesn’t have any future complications 🤞🏽

Bruno was overdue for a vet visit. His nails had overgrown drastically as he refuses to let anyone go near them. He also needed dental scaling and treatment for ear infection. Once he had all his ailments fixed he was feeling so much better and was happy to come back to the shelter 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who responded to our urgent food appeal. ❤️

Thanks to your support, we now have enough dog food to last us for around a couple of weeks.

But with approximately 280 dogs at the shelter, our need for food never stops. We need around 120 kg of dog food every single day to feed them.

We don’t want to reach a point where we have to ask for emergency food donations again.

Our goal now is to build a regular supply of food so that the shelter always has enough for the dogs in our care.

Meet Paris, the hidden gem of our shelter who has been waiting far too long for her forever family.
About Paris

* Age: Around 6 years old (rescued late 2020 at 6–8 months old).
* Size: Medium-to-large female.
* Personality: Calm, gentle, and incredibly sweet.

Why She is Special

* Perfect roommate: She is great with other dogs.
* Peaceful companion: She is calm and well-mannered. Likes an easy pace of life.
* Walking partner: She walks beautifully on a leash.
* Family ready: She is lovely with humans and great with kids.

Paris came to us during a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) mission when she was just a puppy. While she was meant to go back, her gentle soul showed us she belonged in a home, not on the streets. Sadly, she has spent her entire life in the shelter watching others get chosen. She is truly “one of the good ones” and deserves to know what a real home feels like.

Help with vet bills please 🙏🏽

Arizona had many hiccups along the way. She came in anemic and heavily pregnant. She delivered safely thanks to the care of the medical staff caring for her. Arizona later suffered from an infection and had elevated liver values for months. Her kittens grew healthy and strong but it took its toll on Arizona and she needed alot of help to finally make a full recovery ❤️‍🩹

Fudge suffered from digestive issues that caused him to strain and bleed while trying to p**p. Immediate medical intervention meant he was treated promptly and avoided any pain or lasting complications 👏🏽

Toffee is a senior that needed her round of medical diagnostics to make sure she was healthy and to provide her with what she needed to stay that way like dental care 😍

These handsome boys are waiting to be chosen and have their own families. They have been under our care since they were 5 days old.

They are now 4 months old and fully vaccinated and microchipped. They’re playful and friendly and adore human attention.
