ATTENTION Pet Parents!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.

"Мммм, най-обичам кокали да давам."

Здравейте приятели, с този пост искаме да обърнем внимание на една много важна тема - “Даването на кости на домашни любимци”.

Няма значение дали ги давате като храна или “да си почеше зъбките”, това е много опасно!

Ето и скорошен случай по темата.

Приемаме куче, което е глътнало кост. След направена рентгенова снимка се установява, че е цял прешлен заседнал в хранопровода.
С колегите решихме да предприемем отстраняването на чуждо тяло по ендоскопски начин. След многократни опити за изваждането му, уви, това се оказа невъзможно поради израстъците на прешлена, които бяха буквално вклинени.
Трябваше да се отстрани “по трудния начин”. Няколкочасова операция, отваряне на гръдния кош и всичко това заради една кост.

Следващия път, когато давате кости на вашето куче се замислете, дали искате то да преживее нещо подобно .
