🇧🇪 Jemi Vanelverdinghe 🇧🇪
Born in 1992, Jemi is a dedicated dog and cat groomer from Belgium, known for her passion, precision, and commitment to animal welfare. She graduated as a professional dog groomer in 2018 and further expanded her expertise by earning her cat grooming certification in 2022.
Her journey into the grooming world began with her own American Cocker Spaniels, Aika and Yara. What started as a desire to better care for her beloved dogs quickly developed into a lifelong passion and successful career. To this day, her dogs continue to inspire and motivate her growth as a groomer. Olivia, her Spaniel & Setter competition dog, plays a special role in her competitive journey, while Rocky fuels her passion for exploring the creative world of Asian Style grooming.
With a background in orthopedagogy She approaches grooming from a broader perspective. She believes that grooming is about far more than creating a beautiful coat; building trust and ensuring the well-being of every animal are at the heart of everything she does. This philosophy guides her work both in her grooming salon, Caninity, and in the competition ring.
Driven, ambitious, and constantly striving for excellence, Jemi embraces every opportunity to learn and grow. Once she sets her sights on a goal, she pursues it with determination and unwavering dedication.
Her competitive grooming journey began at Groomania 2018, before she had even completed her formal education. Since then, competitions have become an essential part of her professional development. Interestingly, Jemi thrives under pressure and rarely experiences stress during competitions. She enjoys the excitement, the atmosphere, and the challenge, only feeling a touch of healthy nerves during the final minutes when every detail must come together perfectly.
Among all breeds, the American Cocker Spaniel remains one of her favorites. The breed showcases a unique combination of grooming techniques, including hand-stripping, clipping, sc******ng, and styling, making it both challenging and rewarding to groom. Today, she continues to expand her skills in Asian Style grooming, where Rocky provides the perfect canvas for creativity and innovation.
For Jemi, competition has never been solely about winning. It is about continuous learning, discovering new techniques, gaining inspiration from fellow groomers, and constantly pushing herself to improve.
Alongside her work as a groomer, Jemi proudly serves as a Tauro Pro Line Ambassador sharing her expertise.
