Gonyosoma prasinum just came out of brumation, got 30 minutes of light and already turned on and looking to get some... 😆
I didn't wait around to see a lock so here's to hoping I'll get some pearly whites in a few months 🤗

Gonyosoma prasinum (green mountain racer, green trincket snake, green bush ratsnake or green ratsnake) from Dr. Rainer Fesser. Have been in brumation at 8°C, but currently at 15°C.
Really hoping for babies from these (none of which will be a available for the first year 😅)

Lacerta t. trilineata (Balkan green lizard, Balkan emerald lizard) juveniles still in brumation at 15°C. Can’t wait for them to go back in their vivs!

Have a look at our Platyceps n. najadum (Dahls whip snake) on youtube and don't forget to set the settings to 1080p 😁
P. najadum (previously Coluber najadum) occurs mainly in dry environments in a wide range of habitats: rocky lands, forests, grass land and woodland scrubs. They usually stay under 1 metre and the specimen in this video is 105cm. They are rather slim bodied and have a very long tail compared to the body.

A while ago there was a fantastic and immensely educational AHH & BHS Conference in Tamworth (UK) named 'From the darkness, into the light'. Most members are also active in the fb group Advancing Herpetological Husbandry. If you really want to provide your herps with the best care possible, have a look at it. 🐍
For me this was the direct cause to improve my vivs, and more specifically the lights I use. These are now using a 3000K and a 4000K LED, I have provided a 20W Halogen spot for a basking spot but with the current weather this would be to much heat. There's also a ballast for T5 HO UVB tubes but I'm still trying to get the ones from Arcadia.
Although these vivs are far from perfect, I think I'm going the right direction and more vivs will follow 😉

I made these planted vivs for my Elaphe climacophora and Pantherophis guttatus.
I made the middle one for Eirenis punctatolineatus but may decide to house those individualy and find a new inhabitant for this one... 😁

Backgrounds are made with expanding foam, grout, cork, elastopur etc.

The rack with vivariums was made by Terrariumhuis.
Lights are T5 24W 12% UVB tubes with reflectors from Arcadia Reptile
I use a dimmable ballast for these to simulate weather ☁️☀️
