We thought we’d share a little bit of Halloween safety information from our friends at Halifax Vets for Pets! While Halloween is fun for us humans we need to ensure it’s a safe time for our 4 legged companions. 💜

Don’t forget our donation bin is located within Vets for Pets Halifax so if you have any unwanted dog food / items please feel free to pop in and add them to our donation bin. All donated items help us continue the great work we do. 💜

Philippa had a party afternoon at Our Place Calderdale in Boothtown today! A lovely lunch, a bit of Bingo, lots of singing and dancing with super talented, funny singer Lee Lambert, lots of lovely people including some of the Friday Friends!
We had a few crafts, dog coats and toys on offer as well as a raffle. We raised an amazing £63.93! That's another 7 dogs fed for a week! 💜
Thanks so much to Elza and Mel for inviting us, and to everyone for making Philippa feeling so welcome and keeping her busy singing and dancing! 🥳
A special moment was meeting one of our canine supporters! Lucky young Viszla, Rufus was treated to a new coat for winter and a dog toy too of course by his peeps! 😍
If you have a group who would enjoy finding out more and maybe a stall, please get in touch! 💜

On Sunday teatime, at Elland Craft & Tap Micropub, Tiegan and Ian joined Cobi and Joe, our friends from Equipped4learning, to draw the two lucky winning tickets in our fantastic Two-Hamper Raffle.🎁🎁.

Congratulations to our two winners!

Through the generosity of the pub regulars we raised an amazing £319.65 which will be shared between the two charities.

A massive shout out to Mike and all the team at the Elland Craft and Tap Micropub for selling the raffle tickets, we simply couldn’t have done it without you! 💜

❗️ We need your help again. ❗️

We’re asking for your help again, this time it’s even easier. If you have 2 seconds to spare it would mean the world to us if you could go to this post by IAMS UK and tag Mabel’s Meals in the comments of the original post.

Thank you very much for continuing to support Mabel’s Meals, it genuinely means the world to us to see all your support! 💜

There are so many incredible pet charities doing amazing work in communities across the UK, and we want to shine a light on them. 🐶🐱

Know a local pet charity that goes above and beyond for pets and the people who love them?

Tell us who they are in the comments, and why you think they deserve to be championed by IAMS. ❤️

Your local charity could be our next pet charity to support.

As you all know we had a wonderful group of volunteers head over to Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve last Sunday to host our Cake & Coffee at Cromwell fundraiser and we couldn’t be more proud and appreciative of their support and commitment! 💜

The team were there from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and they didn’t stop the entire time! There were lots of cakes, coffee, handmade crafts and tombola prizes available and they got to meet so many of you and your pooches! (Pooch pictures to follow shortly). 💜

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers and the generosity of everyone who attended we raised a huge £506.50! And of course to the Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group for their continued support! This incredible amount will allow us to produce and deliver 56 more food parcels to continue our aim of supporting the pets and owners of Calderdale! Thank you so much to everyone involved! You’re all amazing! 💜

💜 Personalised Paw Print Art 💜

One of our wonderful volunteers has very kindly offered her creative talents in the form of these lovely hand made paw print artwork pieces! We are politely asking for a suggested donation of £9 per piece which allows us to produce and deliver 1 food parcel. 🐾

They are made to order and ordering is easy. Simply message the Mabel’s Meals page and let us know the following:

1. Your preferred colour of paw print. (See picture 3 for the selection of colours available.
2. Your pets name.
3. The colour frame you would like: black, white, or brown.
4. If you would prefer delivery (within 10 miles of Halifax. Or if you would prefer to collect.

We are able to deliver orders within 10 miles of Halifax or you are able to collect from the Halifax area. 🐾

We will be taking orders for these from today until 1st December 2026. Our wonderful volunteer is making these single handedly so there is only a limited amount of pieces she is able to make before December so we would encourage you to place your order sooner rather than later. 💜

Yesterday saw Philippa visiting Foundry Street Community Centre to deliver a Mabel’s Meals session to their Brownies group and obviously the lovely Sybil went with her too! Thank you very much for having us you were a very polite group of young ladies. 💜

Throughout the course of the hour long session they played a game looking at why dogs are so important to people and why people with low income still might prioritise them and how Mabel's Meals helps. They also discussed canine safety with the girls asking Sybil if it was okay for them to give her some attention and a stroke. To end Sybil performed some of her tricks, much to the delight of the girls and they all went home with some Mabel’s Meals merchandise. 💜

The brownies very kindly donated some cat and dog food which we greatly appreciate! Thank you so much girls! This will really help benefit the pets and their families of Calderdale! 💜

If you know an organisation who you think would be interested in us hosting one of our sessions for their groups tag them in the comments and let them know what we do. We have had sessions with the WI before but we are open to any groups; Scouts, Rotary, Guides, Community Groups, Clubs, etc. Our sessions are fully adaptable to your groups needs. We are able to offer sessions with or without a dog present, a PowerPoint presentation, or a more casual discussion. If you would like more information feel free to get in touch and we can discuss your requirements. 💜

🥳 Thank you Philippa.S! 🥳

We would like to say a big thank you to Philippa who celebrated her birthday at the beginning of October and instead of asking for any cards she decided to host a Facebook birthday fundraiser and chose Mabel’s Meals as the recipients of the money raised! 💜

Thank you to Philippa and to all of Philippa’s friends who donated, no matter how big or small your donation was it made a difference! 💜

Together you raised a massive £109.00 for Mabel’s Meals which means that 12 pooches will now be able to receive food parcels, thanks to you! 💜

If you have a birthday coming up and you’re not sure what to ask for we would appreciate being considered to be your Facebook Birthday Fundraiser charity! 💜
