In Loving Memory of Takashi Amano (1954–2015)
10 Years On
Today marks a decade since the world lost a visionary—Takashi Amano, the father of modern aquascaping.
His legacy lives on in every nature aquarium, every piece of driftwood placed with intention, every aquarist who finds peace in the underwater world he helped us see differently. Amano didn’t just create aquariums—he created living art, blending Japanese aesthetics with the harmony of nature.
Through ADA, his philosophies, and his breathtaking Nature Aquarium style, he taught us that aquascaping is more than a hobby—it’s a way to connect with nature, to find balance, and to express beauty without words.
We remember him not with sorrow, but with deep gratitude—for the inspiration, the innovation, and the soul he gave to this community. His spirit flows in every planted tank and every aquascaper who dares to see nature through his eyes.
Rest in peace, Master Amano. Your vision continues to flow, crystal clear.

Leaving forests undisturbed, recreating them within water.
Not merely keeping fish, nor simply planting plants —
But observing balance, finding beauty.
Flow within stone. Time within wood.
Universes within glass tanks.
Nature Aquarium—
An art form. A philosophy. A revolution in the aquarium world.
Pioneered by Takashi Amano.
We chose not just to love nature,
but to learn from it —
and to create.
This is the unwavering philosophy of ADA.
