Bekko Koi (be-coh)
White, Red, or Yellow Koi with Black Markings
The Bekko is a solid colored non-metallic koi fish with black (sumi) spots on the body. Bekko koi are produced in three colors; white, red and yellow. The white variety is called a Shiro Bekko. It is a clean white koi fish with the addition of black spots. The Aka Bekko is a red or orange koi with black spots, and the Ki Bekko is a yellow koi fish with black spots. The Ki Bekko or yellow version is the rarest.

টাকি মাছ কিংবা শোল মাছের বাইশের(পোনা) চচ্চরি যতই মজা হোক খাওয়া থেকে বিরত থাকতে হবে।

বৈশাখ মাসের প্রথম বৃষ্টিতে সদ্য প্লাবিত জলাশয়ের অগভীর অঞ্চলের স্বচ্ছ পানিতে টাকি (Channa punctatus), শোল (Channa striatus), গজার (Channa marulius) ও রাগা (Channa gachua) মাছ ডিম ছেড়ে থাকে।
ডিম ফুটে বাচ্চা /রেনু (Spawn) হওয়ার পর বাচ্চা গুলো স্বচ্ছ পানিতে স্কুল ফর্ম (Schooling) করে মা বাবার প্রত্যক্ষ তত্ত্বাবধানে (Parental Care) এই ভাবে ঘুরে বেড়ায়।
দেশের অনেক অঞ্চলে এটাকে "বাইশ"(পোনা) (Baish) বলে। আমরা মানুষ, প্রথমে কুচ/ টেডা/ হারপুন দিয়ে টাকি/শোল/ গজার মাছের মা বাবা কে মারি ভর্তা খাওয়ার জন্য।
এর পর খুইয়া জাল/ মশারীর জাল/ গামছা দিয়া বাইশ / বাচ্চা ধরি, ভাজি খাওয়ার জন্য। মা, বাবা ও বাচ্চা মানে বংশ শেষ।

এই বাইশ(পোনা) ধরা মৎস্য আইন ১৯৫০, ১৯৮৫ এবং ২০০০ অনুযায়ী দন্ডনীয় অপরাধ। বাইশ ধরা অতীতে ব্রিটিশ ভারতের Indian Fisheries Act 1897 এও নিষিদ্ধ ছিলো।

আসুন বাইশ(পোনা) ধরা থেকে বিরত থাকি।
আগামী প্রজন্মের জন্য মৎস্য সম্পদ রক্ষা করি।
