Magical Moments at Yarram Primary! ✨🦄

Today, our rescue “unicorns” brought smiles & learning to Yarram Primary-School! The kids had a fantastic time getting hands-on experience with horse & pony care—learning about feeding, grooming & understanding these gentle animals.

It was a joy to see their curiosity & kindness shine through as they connected with our rescue ponies Casper & Lilly Pilly.
Teaching the next generation about responsible animal care is at the heart of what we do!

You made your way on adrenaline and sheer determination.
60 metres off the road.
Those driving past would never have seen you.
Those walking past would not have even heard the noise of you struggling to get around.
You were shielded under the canopy of the trees.
The chatter of the choughs echoed the stillness
The sun breaking through in parts with just enough warmth.

Thankfully, the lady who hit you this morning, DID make the call.
She did care enough to make sure that you got the help that you needed.
She did drop a pin for the rescuer to find you easier.

I called her when I got there, just for clarification
We were able to FaceTime and she indicated where he went.
He used a kangaroo crossing path.
A path that he had probably used A thousand times before.
A path that had been ingrained into his DNA.
A path, that his Mum would have taken him through as a Joey in her pouch.
A path, that he would have followed her taking a mental memory with every single hop.

She offered to come back in case I couldn’t find you but thankfully, I did.

Barely able to stand by this stage, your pelvis broken.
Stomach distended, blood starting to fill your abdomen.
One leg much colder than the other.
The only thing I could do was to relieve you from your suffering.

Your body left to go back to your land and for your mob to mourn your passing.
I am so sorry beautiful boy but so grateful that you were called in.
So many are not.
So many, right at this second, are laying out there and will NEVER get help, because someone never made a call.
