The Sunshine Coast Pet Crematorium is a small owner operated business so you can be assured of a caring, personalised service. Born and raised in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Leesa, owner operator of the Sunshine Coast Pet Crematorium grew up sharing her house (and sometimes bed) with a variety of animals. Dogs, cats, birds, chooks, goats, wallaby and even a pet dingo. Leesa has come to know the

community firsthand through her love of animals. With over 15 years experience in animal welfare, she’s played an avid role supporting the Coast’s animal shelters, providing foster care and aiding the local market by sourcing her equipment and services locally where possible. Leesa knows firsthand how hard it is to say goodbye to your pet, how they become part of your family and part of your life – and how deserving every furry friend is of a loving send off. In 2017, Leesa founded the Sunshine Coast Pet Crematorium as a way to use her care, compassion and love for animals to serve the Sunshine Coast community. We know the passing of a pet can be as significant as losing a friend or family member, because for many of us, that’s what pets are- family. Our mission is to bring peace of mind to all pet owners, in knowing that when the time comes, their pet will be taken care of as carefully and as lovingly as possible, every step of the way, from this life into the next. We take pride in our human-animal bonding profession, and will ensure you and your pet receive the most honorable service possible as we embark on this journey together.

4 years ago we said goodbye to our darling Frankie . Mick compiled this video of our time with our girl. I watched this video so many times and each anniversary I watch it again or whenever I need a little Frankie fix . We all say it about our fur babies but Frankie was one in a million 🐾😢💔❤️

A tribute to Frankie, a beautiful soul.

Business lays precious pets to rest with dignity and compassion

For most people saying goodbye to a furry member of the family can be a terribly painful and difficult experience.

But one Yandina businesswoman is working to help soften the blow of a pet’s passing by offering dignified and specialised after care.

“We know the passing of a pet can be as significant as losing a friend or family member, because for many of us, that’s what pets are — family,” said Leesa Neilen of Sunshine Coast Pet Crematorium.

Leesa started the crematorium four and a half years ago and has helped hundreds of pet owners send off their beloved pets.

“I have been surrounded by animals my entire life and to live without them is unthinkable to me,” Leesa said. “So I feel I have a deep understanding for the connection between people and their pets.

“Through my work, I get to hear so many beautiful stories and it is an incredible privilege to walk through this experience with others.

“People are sometimes surprised by the intensity of the grief and sense of loss they feel when a pet departs,” Leesa explained. “It can be difficult to talk about your loss with friends or relatives who may not understand feeling such sadness over what they may refer to as ‘just an animal’.”

Leesa offers a range of options for people to honour their pet, from classic timber boxes to one of a kind handcrafted urns and burial crosses. Additional memorial products such as jewellery and photo frames are also available.

“You will receive all and only your pet’s ashes,” said Leesa. “This is very important.

“Every pet deserves to have a loving send off, and that is exactly what we offer.”

We are a small team here at The Sunshine Coast Pet Crematorium.
Behind the scenes busily working on our website , taking photos of new products and doing other odd jobs is Mick - he has two sidekicks who boss him around ensuring he is staying on task , Kelly our 17 year old cat who we have had for 15 years - adopted from Scars and Kit Kat our 16 year old cat who we adopted from 4 paws 2 years ago .
Helping in the office, looking after the animals that come into our care and driving around the Sunshine Coast is Kym. Kym joined us in November last year and we feel very blessed to have such a compassionate and caring person on our team .
Last but certainly not least is our wonderful all round helpers Maddox- 10.5 year old whippet - adopted 8.5 years ago and Yoko - 10.5 year old toy poodle adopted from Scars in 2019. You will find them in the office lounging around and barking at anyone who comes to visit . Their main duties are ensuring I drive safely around the Coast and most days can be found perched right beside me in the front seat , they are a great support ❤️
