Winter is well and truly here, after a very mild beginning, but our hearts were warm over the weekend, celebrating Christmas in July at our Carnival of Colour Alpaca Show in Goulburn.
Thanks to everyone involved in helping with absolutely everything, from set-up to clean up! You all know who you are, and too many people to name individually. Deb and I couldn't have done it without you all.
Thank you to our esteemed judge Natasha Clark, and her apprentice Katy Armson-Graham for your appraisals. After all, that's the reason we enter our animals.The knowledge we gain helps us to shape our breeding programs! We also had a lot of fun with other breeders and the Christmas theme in general.
Giaginye Alpacas enjoyed a very successful weekend, with all of our animals taking home a ribbon. Our results were:

Giaginye Murphy's Law- 1st Intermediate Black Male, Champion Black Male and Supreme Black Huacaya.

Giaginye Jedi Knight-1st. Junior Black Male and Reserve Champion Black Male.

Giaginye Posh- 1st. Intermediate Black Female and Champion Black Female.

Giaginye/Sotaycam Heathcliffe- 1st. Adult Black Male.

Giaginye Poppet- 2nd. Junior Grey Female and Reserve Champion Grey Female.

Giaginye Trojan -1st. Junior Roan Male and Reserve Champion Roan Male.

Giaginye Mr. Brightside-1st. White Adult Male.

Giaginye Sweet Desire-1st. Junior Black Female.

Giaginye Moon Chaser- 2nd. Junior Grey Male

Giaginye Paladin -3rd Junior Black Male.

What a way to end a beautiful autumn day

Just arrived home after a wonderful few days at Sydney Royal. Very tired, but very happy. Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of every aspect of it. There are too many to name, but thank you all. A special thank you to international judge, Roger Clarke, whose dedication to ensuring every competitor received feedback, regardless of whether or not they received a ribbon, was truly amazing, and so very appreciated.
Our black boys, Giaginye Jedi Knight, and Giaginye Murphy's Law both received a 1st place in their classes. Giaginye Sotaycam Heathcliffe was 2nd to Murphy. Murphy went on to become Champion Black Male, and then Supreme Black Huacaya of the show.
Not to be outdone, our White Adult Male, Mr. Brightside's flleece was judged Most Commercially Valuable Huacaya Fleece of the show! So exciting for us! So now it's back to the chores, and reality, but these highlights will live in our memories for a long time to come.

So very proud of our White Adult Male, Giaginye Mr. Brightside, at Sydney Royal Easter Show. His fleece was judged Most Valuable Commercial Huacaya Fleece, as well as Champion White Huacaya Fleece! Something we never thought we could achieve as small breeders. We're just over the moon!
Our black boy, Giaginye Knightly also impressed with his big win in the Black Huacaya Fleece section, taking out Champion Black Fleece for 2026.
