You know the moment… 🚿🐶

You’ve just finished bathing your dog. They look fresh, fluffy, and fabulous…

Then SHAKE MODE ACTIVATED 💦

Suddenly you’re wetter than the dog.
Your bathroom looks like a mini cyclone hit it.
The walls are wet.
The ceiling is somehow wet.
And your dog?
Still looks proud of their work.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our pooch mums

To my favourite human, my Mum 💐🐾

You fill my bowl and warm my bed,
You pat my ears and scratch my head.
You talk to me like I understand,
And somehow… I think I do when you hold my hand.

You love me on the messy days,
Through muddy paws and goofy ways.
My tail still wags the very same,
Each time I hear you call my name.

So this Mother’s Day I need to say,
Thank you for loving me every day.
Life’s better because you’re mine…
My best friend, my Mum, my whole sunshine ☀️🐶💖

Sometimes when customers say
“My dog stinks no matter how often we bath them”
the smell is actually coming from an underlying health issue — not from a dirty coat.

When I hear this, I always check 3 things first:

🐾 Skin
🐾 Ears
🐾 Teeth

In the photos below you can clearly see two common causes of that strong odour:

🦷 Heavy tartar build-up and inflamed gums causing very bad breath
👂 A significant ear infection which I could smell immediately when this gorgeous pup was handed over to me

In this case, I advised the owner to book a vet appointment for treatment.

I also chose not to clean the ears during the groom. When ears are this inflamed, putting product into them can be painful, cause further irritation, and may make it harder for the vet to properly swab the discharge for testing.

As groomers, we often spot problems owners may not see day to day because we work hands-on and up close with your dogs.

We’re not just a dog wash.
We care about the overall health, comfort and wellbeing of your pets 🐶💙
