Meet Toast 💚
Once a stray kitten, Toast was found near a busy road and brought to our North Parramatta clinic. Despite ongoing diarrhoea, she remained a playful and loving cat. While we trialled treatments and different foods, we knew a home would be best for her.
Now adopted by a wonderful couple, Toast is thriving in her forever home! To support her ongoing care, we’ve provided a Healthy Pets Plus membership to help her new owners with her gut health journey and ongoing medical costs.
Welcome home, Toast! 🐾

Dental disease is not just something experienced by senior pets with younger pets showing signs.

If your pet shows signs of bad breath, discoloured teeth or excessive drooling they may be in the early stages of dental disease.

So next time you're booking your dental appointment, remember to also book your furry friend in to get theirs checked as well.

Until 30 September, get $50 off a stage 1 dental scale & polish at your local Greencross Vets clinic. T&Cs apply.

⚠️Canine leptospirosis alert for Illawarra and Shoalhaven. This serious bacterial disease can cause vomiting, diarrhoea and lethargy in dogs and can be fatal if left undiagnosed and untreated. If you live in these affected areas, then please speak to your local vet who will be able to advise you regarding vaccination for your dog. Please keep an eye on your dog and if they show these symptoms, then please call your local vet or nearest pet emergency hospital immediately.

Four dogs have died from canine leptospirosis, with two confirmed in the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven.

The serious bacterial disease is spread by rats and contaminated water and can cause liver and kidney failure.

Some of the symptoms include vomiting or diarrhea and lethargy.

Dog owners in the Southern Highlands and South coast are being urged to have their pets vaccinated and to avoid letting them drink or swim in stagnant water.

⚠️⚠️WARNING to all pet owners: 1080 Fox Bait is being laid on Central Coast Nature Reserves. ⚠️⚠️
1080 Fox Bait is rapidly FATAL to your pet, most DO NOT SURVIVE the drive to your vet.

The baits are commonly laid on the edge of walking tracks, putting even leashed dogs at risk as your dog can quickly grab and eat bait.

Areas with Baits always have a Warning sign so please AVOID these areas at all costs, even on lead, it’s just not worth the risk!! The danger outweighs any walk!! ⛔️

Signs of toxicity advance very quickly and can include vomiting, being unwell and lethargic to howling and running seizures; death can occur in just 20 minutes! 😰

Baiting will be conducted in the following Council natural areas where dogs are STRICTLY PROHIBITED at ALL TIMES. ⛔️
Monday 29 April to Friday 7 June 2024:
Katandra Reserve (Holgate), The Ridgeway Reserve (Matcham), Triple Springs Bush Reserve (Matcham).
Ferntree Close Reserve (Mt Elliot-Wyoming-Lisarow), Rumbalara Reserve (Gosford-Springfield-Wyoming-Holgate), Kincumba Mountain Reserve (Kincumber-Green Point-Erina-Terrigal) and The Scenic Road Bushland Reserve (Kincumber-MacMasters Beach).
Please stay away from these zones to keep your pets safe! ⚠️

We advise that if working dogs are being used near the baiting locations, it’s highly recommended to muzzle them both during and after the baiting period. 🐕

Central Coast residents, please share and tag your friends to let them know! ⚠️⚠️⚠️

🎇 NOTICE TO COMMUNITY

A number of community events will be taking place across the Coast on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 January, and some may include a fireworks display.

🐶 Keep a close eye on your furry-four legged friends as animals are often scared of the loud noise and they might try to run away. Ensure your property is secure and that your pets microchip details are up to date, so they can be reunited with you should they escape.

Our Animal Care Facilities at Charmhaven and Erina will be open each day from 8-11am during the Christmas closure period, including all public holidays and Sundays. The Animal Care Facilities will accept stray/lost animals and allow owners to collect their animals (fees may apply) https://hubs.la/Q02hk91J0

Tomorrow is New Years Eve which means fireworks which means terrified and lost dogs.
Prepare now for them: what your doing, are you going to be home, are they alone, are they secure and safe.
Cats inside.
There really is no excuse now. A safe place is a laundry or a bathroom with a radio going loud
for noise, no it doesn't take away them hearing or feeling them going off but it makes extra noise apart from just the boom of fireworks.
Really what's a p**p or a wee on
the floor, you can put newspaper down, it keeps your pet safe.
