🖤 MEET BERTIE — SMALL DOG. BIG OPINIONS. 🖤
Bertie is a 2-year-old Jackapoo (Jack Russell × Toy Poodle), which means somebody apparently looked at a Jack Russell and thought, “You know what this needs? Poodle intelligence.” 😂
The result is Bertie, and Bertie desperately wants to be loved.
He’s funny, clever, affectionate, opinionated, occasionally loud and has some very strong views.
Basically, he is a tiny middle-aged man trapped in a fluffy black dog’s body.
Bertie adores people and wants to be part of the family. Leave him outside alone all day and he may start looking for alternative humans who appreciate him properly.
He’s been around running, jumping, screaming kids and wasn’t phased. He’s also great with most dogs, although the carry on behind a fence says otherwise! Very dominant dogs aren’t his cup of tea though. Like most little Jacks, Bertie considers himself quite a masculine little gentleman and, true to his heritage, nobody has told him he’s small.
Bertie needs clear, kind and consistent rules. If nobody takes charge, he will happily appoint himself Chief Compliance Officer — and may use a nip to inform you that you’re breaking company policy. 😂
With clear boundaries, though, he’s a different little dog. He’s incredibly smart, eager to learn and will follow someone he trusts anywhere. He has been possessive of his person in the past, but when that behaviour isn’t encouraged, it quickly settles.
And Bertie will do almost anything for one of his 3 favourite rewards:
LOVE, ATTENTION or FOOD. ❤️
Sadly, Bertie’s mum passed away. His dad loves him dearly but knows he can’t give Bertie the time and companionship he needs, so he has entrusted him to me to find his perfect forever family.
