🩺At Wooroolin Vets no two days are ever the same, we have an incredible variety of large animal patients and some wonderful clients that keep us busy all year round. 🩺

Here are just a few of the reasons why we love rural mixed Vet practice!

*📢 Special shout out to Terri and the ladies ’s Sewing & Embroidery in Kingaroy for keeping our WVS team looking their best both in the Clinic and out on farm! 🙌🙏🫶🏽💗 Terri’s Sewing & Embroidery

📢Our whole Team voted this beautiful little Dachshund as outstanding for her sweetness, courage and bravery!💝

🐾🩺 Meet ‘MAZE’ (aka ‘Mazakeen’)..🐾🩺

Maze was involved in a car accident and presented to Wooroolin Vets in a bad way in shock.

She was unable to walk on one of her back legs and was experiencing trouble breathing.

After stabilising Maze, our Team performed X-RAYS and our
Vet Dr Tori found both a fractured tibia and diaphragmatic hernia.

*This is when (due to extreme pressure), the weak muscle that separates the abdomen from the thorax becomes torn resulting in the abdominal contents (liver, spleen, kidneys, stomach or intestine) shifting up into the front part of the body and putting significant pressure on the lungs and heart)!

🐕It took several hours of complex surgery to repair the diaphragm and place the abdominal contents back where they belong, followed by correcting the resulting pneumothorax!

🫁Our Snr Vet Nurse and Clinic Supervisor, Hannah Moyle did an incredible job ‘breathing’ for our little Maze for the duration of surgery to keep her alive while Dr Leigh and Dr Tori performed surgery. 🫀

Thankfully her fractured tibia was more stable than initially suspected, and could be managed with splinting.

We were all over the moon when Maze made a full recovery and was able to return home to her beautiful family!💗🥰 She was so tough! 🫶🏽

👋We’ve been so busy over the past few months that we haven’t had a moment to share some of the incredible cases - both Small animal and Large animal patients we’ve had the pleasure of caring for!

🩺🩻Here is one of the many orthopaedic cases we have treated lately.

🐶🐾Meet ‘DUG’… 🐾
His outstanding work ethic got him in the wrong spot at the wrong time.. being stood on by a beast resulted in a fractured radius and ulna!

Dr Pauline and Dr Leigh plated his forelimb and he has made a full recovery and is back working and doing all the things he loves 🥰💙
Dug was so brave, we love his visits! @ruralqld

🙌🩸Special shout out to these Canine Hero Blood Donors - 🐾Yoda and 🐾Max! 🩸🙌

Between them their donations saved a few very special and critical lives this week at Wooroolin Vets!❤️

📸 Pictured together are puppy ‘Trouble’ and Max the Border Collie- both recovered and feeling great with some RBCs in common! ‘Trouble’ was incredibly brave and excited to go home with his Owners following a short stay in hospital.

🐾Yoda’ has been waiting patiently to be old enough and big enough to donate - and it was finally his turn this week! He sure enjoyed soaking up all the cuddles during his stay 🫶🏽🐾🤎

There are many reasons Blood Transfusions are urgently required in Veterinary Clinics…

⚠️One of the most common medical emergencies we treat is the result of clotting disorders seen in rodenticide toxicity cases following accidental ingestion of rat bait. ☠️🐭🐁

If you know your dogs or cats have ingested rat bait please seek Vet assistance as soon as possible.
Early intervention can save lives. 🐾
