🚨Leptospirosis Alert🚨
There has been a confirmed leptospirosis case in Helensburgh last week.

‼️For all dogs unvaccinated with the leptospirosis vaccine, please call either our Helensburgh clinic on 4294 2508 or our Austinmer Clinic on 4268 3353 to make a prompt appointment.

‼️Leptospirosis is a serious bacterial disease that can infect mammals and is spread commonly by rats and mice. The source of spread can be puddles, water, soil and food contaminated by rat urine. Transmission may also occur via dog to dog contact. If not protected by vaccine, it can be life threatening to both dogs and humans.

‼️Symptoms include-
•diarrhoea and/or vomiting
•Fever
•Kidney and liver failure
•Nausea
•Muscle pain
•Lethargy

‼️ If your dog has any concerning symptoms please call one of our clinics so we can organise immediately veterinary care‼️
