On behalf of a client due to having no time, Dory is looking for her new home. Dory is a very safe and reliable 9yo 16hh chestnut thoroughbred mare. Dory had 1 trial where she lost by 70 lengths and retired sound. She sat in a paddock for 5 few years before coming into full time work in 2023. Her first ride back after 5 years was uneventful and her second ride back was a trail ride through the bush down to the river on her own. Dory has been in part time work since February 2024 due to time restraints. She has more woah than go and has a go at just about anything, making her the perfect next step for someone looking for their first thoroughbred. She has a soft mouth and is responsive off the leg. Dory can be ridden with a loose rein and responds to seat aids. Dory has free jumped up to 110cm with scope and willingness to go higher and has done 60cm courses under saddle. She has 3 clean paces and established canter leads each way and has natural self-carriage. Dory is training leg yields and shoulder in at the trot. She has proven to be scared of nothing so far, being ridden on the road, on trails, in the river, past tractors, seen cows and much more. Dory has had plenty of outings but no official starts, making her newcomer and OTT eligible. She would make a great all rounder horse for someone with the time to invest in her. Dory is in her winter woolies and is not as muscled as she has been previously due to being in part time work this year. Up to date with teeth feet worming etc and great for all. Price is negotiable.
