🤎🎓 PUPPY SCHOOL COURSE 🎓🤎

📣 2025 Nck9a Puppy School Course is now open for booking!
👉 Starting WEDNESDAY the 21st of May.

🤎 At the Canine Howlistic Health, Bangalow.

🐶 These classes fill up fast! So book now to give you and your pup the best start to building a life together.

🔸️One lesson per week.
🔸️For puppies between 8 to 16 weeks of age at the date of the first lesson (21/05/25).
🔸️ Canine Howlistic Health, Bangalow
🔸️Classes run for one and a half hours.
🔸️6pm.
🔸️$285 for the 5 week course.
🔸️ Small class size

🐺 These classes are designed by trainers to give you the information to start raising and training your puppy. They offer a unique opportunity for you to learn about dogs.
🔹️How to appropriately socialise your puppy.
🔹️How to manage and prevent behaviours from becoming problems.
🔹️How to set up an effective communication system.
🔹️How to interpret body language.
🔹️How to play with your puppy.
🔹️How to introduce basic commands and obedience.
🔹️How to use enrichment and the environment to mentally stimulate your puppy.
All this will be taught with a mix of theory and practical exercises.

🐺 Puppy School graduates are eligible to join the Nck9a Beginners Classes on Sundays and Midweek Classes, without doing the Foundations Class, 12 month membership included in course cost so you can continue on your training journey!

🐶 Puppies must have their first vaccination before starting.

🐕‍🦺 ON LEAD
🔸️All BEGINNER level dog MUST be on a short lead while at the school and during lessons. A trainer may provide a longline during an exercise. The dog must go back on a short lead at the end of that exercise.

🔸️All INTERMEDIATE level dogs MUST be on a short lead while at the school. A long line MUST be used when working distance exercise. NO INTERMEDIATE DOGS OFF LEAD.

🔸️All ADVANCED level dogs MUST be on a short lead or long line unless specifically directed by a trainer for an individual exercise. The dog MUST be put back on lead at the end of the exercise.

❤️ BANDANA SYSTEM 💛
Red and yellow bandanas are available for reactive and anxious dogs.
Please give extra space to dogs with a red and yellow banda.
If a trainer asks you to put a bandana on your dog, you must use a bandana in every class, until a trainer says otherwise.

📣 ADVOCATE!
Communication is the best way to keep our dogs safe and happy when training. If you need more space for your dog, speak up and move to a different location in the group classes.
If someone brings their dog too close, ask for some space.
If you are asked to give some space, no matter how friendly your dog is, respect the request and move on. It's not about your dog, it's about creating a training environment that works for the majority of people and their dogs.
☝️ Remember we have a strict NO DOG TO DOG INTERACTION policy at the Nck9a.

🐕‍🦺 Foundations Class 2025 🐕‍🦺

💥 Foundations Class intake is now open.
All new members MUST complete ONE Foundations class before joining the Beginners group classes.

🗓 Class Dates:
🔹17th of May 2025

⏰️ Time: 9:00am
🔹️ Duration: one hour.
🔹️ Location: Wollongbar Public School.
🔹️Cost: $105 includes the lesson and sign up fee.

‼️ Please include the date you wish to attend, as well as an alternative date. These dates can book out fast.

🔸️ All new members are required to take part in one Foundations class before joining the beginners classes. Spaces in the term 1 Foundations classes are limited, so bookings are essential.

🔸️ Once completed, you will be a Nck9a member! This means you can join any Beginners class that suits you on a Sunday. You will be able to book into Midweek classes, when they're available. As well as apply for the Nck9a Stay And Train Service.

🔸️Places are not secure until payment has been received and you have received confirmation through PetExec.

🔸️ The Foundations class is an opportunity to learn some training fundamentals to set you and your dog up for future classes. The Nck9a will have set intake dates throughout the term for new members which will be announced via Facebook and Instagram.

🔸️ Through the Foundations class you will learn the communication system we use at the Academy, including marker words and release cues. You will be taught some tips to help you navigate the Beginner group classes, as well as gear setup and general Nck9a rules and layout. This informative lesson will provide you and your dog with the best starting point for your training journey. It's suitable for dogs and puppies of any age.

🟢 Family are welcome. Children must be supervised at all times. Please keep children off the play equipment and basketball area. Kids and family must sit on the benches around the school. Do NOT let children interact with the dogs.

📣 The Nck9a Sunday Classes are pre-booked.

💻 Please place your Sunday group class requests by tonight.

🌞 The Nck9a group classes on Sunday are to be pre-booked through PetExec.

🐶 Please lodge your request in to group training by the Friday night before each Sunday. (TONIGHT!)
Classes are still commitment free in nature, meaning you can book one at a time and refunds will be issued if for some reason you can not attend the class.

🦊 Occasionally, some classes may have limited spots available should we have limited trainers. This will be made clear in the class description in PetExec and in social media posts.
Unfortunately, refunds will not be available for those classes.

🤔 How do I request into the class?

Head to "request group training" either on PetExec website or mobile app, select the pet you wish to enrol at the top of the page then scroll down and select your chosen class/classes and hit "submit request" at the bottom of the page. Your request will come through to admin and be accepted as soon as possible. To check if your request has been accepted head to "my calendar" there you will see the classes you've enrolled in.

🙂 How do I pay?
Once your request has been approved, the payment will be processed through PetExec. If you wish to pay cash, please request the spot through PetExec by the Friday night and then pay on the Sunday at the desk on arrival.

What tools do I need to bring to the North Coast K9 Academy classes?

A flat collar ✅
This is a plain, flat collar that is properly fitted to your dog, please check your dog's collar EVERY TIME before you attend class to avoid your dog slipping their collar and getting off lead during a class. A flat collar will be one of our most common training tools when working our dogs.

A flat lead. ✅
A flat lead is an essential tool when training, NO bungy leads, NO extendable leads. This tool is super important and is an extension of yourself when training.

Good quality treats. 🍗
High quality, healthy treats are recommended when coming to class. Please use wet treats for best results….. Hot tip, if your dog lacks food motivation don't feed them breakfast the morning of training and even limit food the night before.

A treat pouch. 🕺🏽
Of course you're going to need something to store all these treats in, get yourself a decent treat pouch that holds a high quantity of treats so you don't run out during class. A decent sized pouch also means you can store your phone, keys and poo bags so everything is out of the way so you can focus on training, it also makes you look pretty cool out and about too!

Extra Equipment ?
You certainly don't need these items to start, but if you do attend classes often they will come in super handy.

Carabina. ✅
The perfect tool for so many reasons, we love carabinas for our back tie exercise that we often do in our classes. Grab your own so you can practice in the real world.

Slip lead. ‼️
You may have been recommended to use a slip lead by one of our trainers. If you're only new to using one of these leads, bring your dog into class with your normal flat lead and collar then pop your slip lead on when instructed to by a trainer, we will then provide advice on how to best use this tool.

Long line. 🌟
A long line or long lead is essential when training dogs. If you are in the Intermediate or Advance class please bring your own so we can work on more recall and long distance exercises.

A flat lead and collar. A harness if you use one as well as a flat collar. A camp chair🪑 for yourself. A treat pouch. Some yummy dog treats 🍗. A toy 🥎. P**p bags 💩. A dog bed. A crate if your puppy is crate trained.

🟡 Kids and family members are welcome. Please supervise children at all times. Please don't let kids interact with the other puppies. Unfortunately kids are not allowed to play in the carpark or in the Canine Howlistic Health facility.
Please provide quiet games so the puppies are not disturbed.
