Clancy has had a long journey and lots of trust to build up, but after doing things at his pace building up trust he can finally go in the car.
This is a dog who couldn’t even go near the car without absolutely shutting down, wouldn’t eat snacks would try to get away from just being near the car.
When he had been in the car he would have a panic attack, shaking, vomiting, panting and salivating not to mention the struggle to life him up into the car.
Now he goes near the car no worries, gets up the ramp and can stay in the back for 5+ minutes happily eating snacks not wanting to get out even with the car on.
Positive reinforcement can take time but once you do it right we have the foundation together to get though hard issues.

A common question I’m asked is: “If my dog walks in front, does that mean they think they’re in charge of the walk?”
The short answer is no.
The long answer is Dogs naturally explore their environment by sniffing and moving at varying paces. Walking ahead doesn’t indicate dominance or control. However, it’s still important to teach loose-lead walking so your dog can move calmly without pulling, while allowing appropriate opportunities to explore.

First home visit with Poppy.
This little girl has started to become very worried about the world and all the noises that come with it.
Lucky she has a fantastic mum who noticed Poppy’s behavioral changes and reached out to help her pup so we can get onto it early.
- Positive reinforcement and early intervention are two of the most effective principles in dog training because they shape behavior in a way that builds confidence, trust, and long-term skills.
