Unfortunately we regret to inform you that we will not be reopening. We have loved your fur-kids as if they were our own and our hearts break 💔 To say we are devastated would be an understatement. We will be in touch with those of you who still have current packages, please be patient as this is a very difficult time for all of us.

Firstly I'd like to thank all of you for your patience over the last few months.

Unfortunately we are still caught up in red tape. Although everyone agrees doggy daycare is awesome, not everyone wants to live or work near one. The earliest we will know if we can proceed as below:

'Good morning Jo,

As you may be aware, the submission period for your animal boarding application finished last Friday.

Eight public submissions were received, including one petition from local businesses.

Litchfield Council also made a submission.

As there were submissions received, the application will need to go to the Development Consent Authority (DCA) meeting for Litchfield next month. You will receive further information about this closer to the date. The meeting is on Wednesday the 19th of April 2023.

There is no requirement for you to respond to the submissions, but if you wish to do so, please respond by emailing a letter to me which can be added to the report to the DCA.

Getting closer every day! Thank you everyone for your patience, we can’t wait to be able to give you an opening date!

2023 has already been a great year, and we have loved starting the year with your furkids. However, we have some big changes to announce.

Unfortunately, the current doggy daycare premises have been sold, and the new owners have not renewed our lease. We have spent a lot of time looking for a suitable new location close by, but we have been unable to find somewhere we believe your furkids would be safe, comfortable and enriched. However, we have found a site we believe we be suitable, in Holtze.

We appreciate that this may be inconvenient for some of our clients, which we truly regret.

Our last day of trading at Winnellie will be Thursday 16 February, and we will reopen shortly after this date as Darwin Doggy Daycare.

We are busy setting up this new location, and as soon as it is ready we will
reopen our (new) doors and welcome all your furkids back!

CLOSING FRIDAYS

Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to close Winnellie Doggy Daycare on Fridays, starting immediately (Friday the 21st of October) and until further notice. This is only temporary until we find the perfect carer for your much loved fur-babies. We hope you understand their comfort and wellbeing is always our highest priority.

If you usually attend on Fridays and would like to reschedule to another day during this period please speak directly to Liz in the office.

WE ARE HIRING!

Winnellie Doggy Daycare is seeking an experienced part-time daycare attendant, responsible for the care of our furry guests.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Previous animal handling experience and training is essential. Particularly, we will be looking for any experience in dog behaviour, body language or training. While we do not operate any training facilities, we pride ourselves on being able to assess the behaviour needs of all our guests and monitor their body language to ensure they are happy and comfortable during group
play. Some office work and pet transport will also be involved.

Normal hours will Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 6:00pm. Extra hours may be required during staff absences.

Duties will include:

All aspects of dog care.
Sorting dogs in appropriate play groups, and supervision of the play groups.
Entering pet records to the computer system.
Cleaning of play yards.
Basic grooming, including washing, brushing and nail clipping.
Basic customer service.

Experience:

Previous animal handling experience is essential.
Experience in dog behaviour, body language or training.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Skills:

Ability to safely give medications.
Basic computer literacy.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently, and with initiative.
Customer service.

Performance Goals:

Complete all duties to a set schedule.
Ensure all guests are comfortable, settled, safe and healthy.
Deal with clients, suppliers and other employees professionally at all times.
Ensure play yards, office and other facilities are clean and presentable at all times.
