Winter vibes.
What are some things you do with your dogs in the winter to keep them entertained?
One game we play is where Dude has to go into his crate (door open) and stay there while I go to the other end of the house. Then I will randomly use one of his recall commands and he will bolt to find me and get a reward. We then go through a quick succession and random amount of obedience and trick commands that he knows with the last command being his CRATE command to which he bolts straight through the house and into the crate. He’s exhausted after 10 minutes of this!
If you don’t have a house and you’re in a smaller space or your not physically able to move around that much you can spend 5 minutes doing some training where instead of giving the dog a treat from your hand you throw it away from them. Even something simple like a SIT command and play with the how long they have to hold the sit before you throw the reward, the anticipation the dog feels is thrilling to them. You can even do this with their meal if you feed something dry like kibble or have an area that’s ok to throw food around!
