The perfect horse for a confident and experienced rider wanting to jump or event. I have been putting off selling him because I have been having too much fun on him. This boy has the potential to be a 3* eventer.
BOLEK
2014 Thoroughbred Gelding
Approx 16hh
Bolek retired sound from racing last year due to no longer being interested in being a racehorse.
Bolek is an absolute pleasure to own. He is laid back and easy going. He is currently paddocked with 3 other geldings and they all get along very well. He holds condition well and doesnβt require any expensive feeds. He is good to tie up, floats well and is easy for the farrier. He is a cuddly boy and he loves attention.
Bolek has a lovely smooth action, works in a lovely frame. He is one of the quickest learners iβve seen, if you show him once he will take it on board and you wonβt need to show him again. His first time jumping he popped over everything that was put in his way. He has since had further training in jumping and has proven to be a natural, jumps 115cm with EASE. Has popped over 95cm cross country fences like they were trot poles. He almost always gets his striding spot on, however if he has to add in an extra stride or jump a bit early he still manages to jump smooth. He has no issues going into the water on XC or out on the trails. My partner was mostly riding him since we have had him, taking him on trail rides and as a mate for my horses. After he had 4 weeks off over Christmas I have now taken the lead myself and will continue to work with him to establish his dressage and jumping until he finds a new home. He can be a bit fresh the first few rides after having a spell. He thrives off being worked a minimum of 4 times a week.
As seen in the videos, Bolek has been ridden by my 10 year old niece. She only has 1 year experience with riding where she rides her pony 2/3 times a week. When she came to ride Bolek he was the biggest horse she has ever sat on and that was the most cantering she has ever done on a horse. Considering he had only jumped once before these videos and she got on and was able to send him over some little jumps with no issues we think he is a really special boy and he will not just go to any home.
There are a few things he doesnβt like:
β People who are rough on his mouth
β Excessive unnecessary harsh leg use
β Free lunging in a round yard (but is excellent when on a lunge lead)
β Working in mud or soft, squishy wet grass π
Bolek has been seen to occasionally windsuck when in a stable but never when he is in a paddock. It has never affected him in any way. He also has some scarring on his hind legs from getting caught up in a fence when he was younger, his trainer said it was only superficial damage.
Bolek currently has front shoes on.
He will only be sold to the best of homes, he is a very special horse. Please, no beginners.
