Shanadarr Rozannah (Splitters Creek Spin Doctor x Pindari Park Roze) was born on 17th October 2020 - ten days later everything changed when we had a thunderstorm. Rozannah appeared to have run into a fence post, she had damaged her offside eye, there was no other visible damage. After our vet checked her out, it was decided that we need to take her up to Scone Equine Hospital. After consultation and x-rays, we were advised that she had multiple scull fractures and they would have to remove her eye.
Once she was operated on and was ready to come home, we kept her and mum in our house yard for the first few weeks, it was advised that once she is weaned, she would need a guide/companion horse in a small paddock. Well, 2 weeks old with one eye, head bandaged up, galloping and zigzagging around trees and front verandah.
Come weaning time, she was placed with another horse for guidance, which she didn't need. Rozannah had a mind of her own and wanted to be independent. After a while, it was decided to put her out in a bigger paddock with a small herd.
Now, five years later, she is a confident mare in a paddock galloping around and along fence lines on her blind side with precision.
She has always been admired by visitors and particularly by a young family who fell in love with her.
Rozannah now resides in the Southern Highlands being pampered, about to start being broken in and is also paddock buddy for Shanadarr Khaleel, now 25yrs old.
We wish her new owners the very best with this special mare.
