💉🩺 VACCINATIONS 🩺💉

Heading away for the holidays? Planning to book your dog or cat into boarding?
Now is the time to make sure their vaccinations are up to date! 📆

Vaccinations can’t always be left until the last minute. If your pet’s vaccines have lapsed, it can take around 6 weeks to achieve protective immunity – this includes one vaccination, a booster 4 weeks later, and then 2 weeks for the immunity to fully develop.

Keeping your pet’s vaccinations current also means you’re prepared for unexpected travel or emergencies where boarding may be required at short notice!

Don’t leave it too late – call us today to book your pet’s vaccination appointment

💉 National Microchipping Month 💉

Did you know microchipping your pet is one of the most effective ways to keep them safe? If your furry friend ever gets lost, a microchip dramatically increases the chances of being reunited! 🤗

𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨:
- It’s a permanent form of identification for your pet
- Helps shelters and vets quickly contact you if your pet is missing

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚:
- A tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, is injected under your pet’s skin (usually between the shoulder blades)
- It’s a quick, simple procedure, often done during a routine check-up or vaccination visit
- The chip stores a unique ID number linked to your contact details in a secure database

Call us to organise an appointment to microchip your pet or to check their microchip to ensure they are under your name! ☎️

𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨: Two dogs attempt to become sidewalks 👷

Cheeky dogs, Ozzy and Poppy, decided to try their paws at construction work after sneaking into a bag of cement powder and tile glue while mum was out. Their not-so-secret mission was quickly uncovered thanks to the suspicious cement-covered faces of the guilty parties! 🙊

Thankfully, their quick-thinking paw-rents rinsed them off and brought them straight in for assessment. Despite their latest career choice, both pups were still their happy, cheeky selves! 😆

The challenge was not knowing if they had swallowed any cement powder.
Because cement can cause burns, making them vomit wasn’t safe. Instead, they were treated with activated charcoal, gut-protecting medications, and closely monitored to make sure everything passed through safely.

At their recheck the following day, both Poppy and Ozzy were bright, happy, and well on track for a full recovery! 💪

After dabbling in construction, the pair have decided the industry may not be quite as “set in stone” as they first thought…. 😂

❤️🐝 MEET PIPPA 🐝❤️

Pippa came to see us after a not-so-sweet encounter with a bee 😖

Bee stings are common in curious pets, especially those who love to sniff, chase, or snap at buzzing insects. Most stings cause mild swelling and discomfort, often around the face or paws but sometimes reactions can be more serious.

𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙮𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧:
• Sudden swelling (especially around the face)
• Pain or limping
• Vomiting or weakness
• Difficulty breathing (this is an emergency)

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤:
If your pet gets stung, try to keep them calm and prevent further stings. You can gently apply a cold compress to reduce swelling but always contact your vet for advice, especially if symptoms progress.

Pippa was a very brave girl and is already back to her happy self ❤️
