FEED BEFORE YOU RIDE to help gastric health!
In our recent Gastric Health Webinar, nutritionist Jill Davies discussed the importance of protecting your horse's gut during exercise. Feeding lucerne before you ride is one way to help decrease the risk of acid splash.

Feeding lucerne hay or chaff right before you ride can help create a 'cap' in the stomach. You can do this while you're tacking up, because the aim is for it not to be digested, but rather sit on top of the stomach contents and stop it from splashing up and burning the sensitive parts of the stomach.
