Thanks for sharing Box Divvy East Ryde - Blue Gum . I bought some ingredients from Box divvy this week and I'll be trying it soon.
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup almond butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup dried cranberries or sultanas
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ditch supermarket energy bars and make your own! Not only do they taste so much better, they're cheaper, but you also know exactly what's in them! No added nasties!

I loved this recipe as they were quick and easy to prepare and were no-bake - just melt, mix and chill. *full ingredients list in comments 👇

Almond butter is super easy to make. Start by toasting the almonds to bring out their nutty flavour and also makes them easier to blend. Then into the food processor with a pinch of sea salt until smooth and creamy.

Dried fruits, nuts, seeds and lots lots more available through the Box Divvy Pantry range!

Top tip: as this is a non-baking slice it is best to press the mixture down really firmly in the tin to help it stay together. I used a tall glass fashioned into a rolling pin 😂 and keep in the fridge.

Box Divvy donates $5,000 to Gloucester Grass-fed Meats

The Box Divvy Farmers’ Resilience Fund, donations from members and matched $ for $ by Box Divvy, supports local farmers during times of crisis, such as floods or extreme weather.
The Fund provides either fast, interest-free financial aid or a one-off payment to help farmers recover quickly and continue operating. Unlike government grants, which are often delayed, hard to access, and exclude many farmers, this Fund offers immediate, practical support.

It’s part of Box Divvy’s mission to build a fair, sustainable food system by connecting consumers directly with growers. The Fund strengthens the local food chain and shows Box Divvy’s strong commitment to local agriculture.

Gloucester Grass Fed Meats were hard hit, and we have given a one-off payment of $5,000 to assist with immediate feed costs. To put this in perspective: he has had to bring in 60 tons of hay which cost him $30,000. Demand is up so prices are up, and supply is limited.

We’d like to share a note from Brad.
“The support I have received is inspiring enough to never give up. It is one trait that most farmers have in their blood. My parents were the same and taught me that. I can only thank you so much for your generosity. Thank you. What you have set up to support farmers and suppliers for the better of all the community is inspiring. The Box Divvy community are changing the structure and services for fresh food service in Australia.

Us farmers during this weather event have all lost in different ways. The worst affected have lost everything. Livestock losses are the hardest to deal with, next I see is the loss of productive land for winter which also needs the herd to be sold to processors. So many parts of this flood are destructive to the hard work we do. I have had only one of my old cows pass that I chased around the island, 80 acres for 4 hours on foot that has become a casualty of the floods.

The immediate aftermath?

I will need to sell 50 breeding cows as I now have limited winter crops. Half of my Mount George property has had the topsoil stripped from it, so now the property has lost its value as a farm due to the high loss of livestock numbers. The financial cost for all producers to keep livestock healthy now, with hay and grain, is also a drain on costs. The fact is, that all responsible farmers want their livestock to live a healthy, enjoyable life. We spend a lot of time and money on productive pastures and animal welfare.

Thank you so much again for your support of Gloucester Grass Fed Meats. Your generosity shows that we all are a team, working together.”

My all time favourite curry…rendang made easy by Bel, the aroma of it whilst cooking brought me back to childhood nostalgia of walking through wet markets and hawker centres with makcik stirring pots of various curries.

All I did was browning my smaller pieces of salted and peppered chuck beef. Then browning my onion before adding spice mix, sugar (those little palm sugar are so good!) and salt. Added coconut cream, tamarind and garlic before I popped them on pressure cooking for an hour twenty minutes on high. Meat was amazingly tender and tasty afterwards, so I just dried up the sauce before adding in some toasted desiccated coconut. Coriander on top and voila!

Perfection on a plate 🤤

Interested in this? Find the Belicious Foods rendang spice mix in Pantry ➡️ Herbs & Spices ➡️ Marinades & Seasonings. Each pack is $13.50 and can be used for 4 family meals.

Why not start with potato and leek?

Thanks for sharing Farmborough Heights - Ashley. So important for our Australian dairy farmers.

Thanks for sharing Farmborough Heights - Ashley. So important for our Australian dairy farmers.

This was a post from the niece of a Norco Milk supplier and I have permission to share.

Proud that Box Divvy supports the Norco families.

A 4th generation dairy farmer put up a post last night as below.

He wasn't as badly affected by the recent floods as others were in the Mid-North Coast LGA, but she thought his message was worth sharing so please read! 🌻

For those who are in a position to pay that little bit extra for their milk and dairy products, it really does directly help our farmers in so many ways! 🤠🐮

💜☔💜☔💜☔

"We supply milk to Norco Milk from our dairy farm here at Stroud Road.
All milk processors across Australia are required to announce their pricing paid to farmers on 1st June each year for the year ahead.
Coming out of the millenial drought, for us to get 1c/L on farm, the shelf price needed to lift by 3c/L. The 'rub' back then was that typically, processors could only directly determine the price of their own brands ie Norco, Dairy Farmers Paul's etc., while the supermarket 'home' brands continued to enjoy an artificial discount, which widened every time a processor tried to increase the price of their 'branded' products.
This practice continues today & typically drives the budget conscious consumer back towards the retailer's cheaper 'own' brand at farmers' expense.
So how can you support the dairy industry following the current flood crisis? It's as easy as paying a little more by choosing to purchase 'branded' products.
Even better, choose to buy Norco products which are 100% Australian farmer owned...where both milk price & share dividends go directly back to farm where it is currently needed."
