Congratulations to Emmett our lucky recipient of the EQ Saddlery Grooms Prize. Emmett grooms for Jimmy Wood and did an amazing job today looking after his string of ponies on finals day, the ponies were gleaming and really stood out.

EQ are giving one lucky groom a $50 voucher at 18 tournaments over the Victorian Polo Season. Thankyou EQ for recognising the hours of hard work and dedication from our grooms in the sport. EQ Saddlery

Congratulations to Aruba on winning the Melbourne Polo Cup Off The Track Best playing pony in the 10 goal.

Aruba is owned by John Grant and was played by Jack Berner. Aruba raced as Can Exceed.

The OTT Best playing pony in the 6 Goal Melbourne Polo Cup was awarded to Oddsox who raced as Lady Oddsox.

Sired by Lord Jim out of the dam Rani. She raced into first on the racetrack on one occasion retiring in 2016 to begin a long and successful career as a polo pony.

Off the Track 2 Goal Best playing pony went to Vienna who raced as Miss Current.

Sired by KIroshio this brown mare concluded her racing career in 2021. Despite 12 attempts she didn’t break maiden status. She is now having a very successful career as a polo pony.

It’s Semi Finals Day! 🎉

This Thursday, 13th November, our 10 Goal and 6 Goal teams go head-to-head for a coveted place in the finals!

The action kicks off at 10:00am with the first of our 10 Goal Semi Finals, as NSW-based team Jemalong take on Victorian side Wormbete once again. Their last encounter saw Jemalong as the runaway winners — but with a finals spot on the line, will Wormbete rise to the challenge and turn the tables?

Then at 11:30am, Lodge Partners face off against Linx Finance in what promises to be another nail-biter. Their previous clash ended with Lodge Partners sneaking ahead by just one goal — but can Linx find that extra gear and claim their place in the big dance, especially with one of their own hosting finals day?

Entry is free, so come along and enjoy a thrilling day of top-class Victorian polo at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre.
