I love supporting such a fabulous cause ❤️ I need a few more bits to finish my bags and I’m done! What’s your extra special piece you like to add to your bags?
🌀Mine is a cinema ticket and coffee voucher❗️
Spread some joy this Christmas 🎄
and donate a bag between the 18-27 November at any Bunnings store 🏬
Friendly reminder that just one bag has the power to make a huge difference to one woman or girl!
That’s the beauty of , your kindness directly impacts another.
So it is with great sadness that we read messages from people who feel like they have to make more to participate.
In summary the messages say: I have always made up one bag but I’m not going to do it anymore because I see all the posts about people making up many.
We are so sorry if we ever made anyone feel like your one bag is not good enough, that would NEVER EVER be our intent and we fully understand the impact of one bag. In fact, even our Founder does just one bag each year, she meticulously loves on everything that goes in, like you all do, but it is just one bag ❤️
One story that stuck with our Founder was how a 16 year old girl received a teen bag, It was the only gift she was getting as she woke on Christmas Day in crisis accommodation after fleeing a home she was not safe in. In this teen bag was a necklace and a bottle of perfume and she said it was her first time owning jewellery and perfume.
The power of that one bag cannot be measured. How do you measure the smile you put on that young girl’s face that day? How do you measure that feeling of hope that this young girl feels when she twirls her necklace in her fingers and feels like people care and there is hope in this world? How do you measure that?
Yep, I don’t think there is a way to measure the impact of one bag. So please please don’t think for a second that putting together a bag is not worthy enough, not appreciated or valued. It really just takes us all to put together one bag to make a difference to one woman or girl.
We at Share the Dignity appreciate your kindness please don’t ever forget that.
