East Gippsland Water are speaking to media about all the damage from kangaroos yet failing to show the evidence.
Its really simple.
Show us the evidence to support your claims in your media releases and letters to the public.
BE HONEST WITH THE PUBLIC
TELL THE TRUTH
If you have nothing to hide East Gippsland Water, then release the permit information.
DEECA Gippsland conservation regulator,
investigate the application for this ATCW permit.
While it might be a legal permit, was it obtained legally????
The answer is very clear, given East Gippsland Water remain silent on what actual information they used, to obtain this permit.
It is very simple what is going on with the properties.
East Gippsland Water removed cattle from their land, because cattle grazing on grass irrigated with recycled water, can't be sold through the sale yards.
So their land is clear of ANY grazing pressure, allowing Kangaroos to graze safely.
Approximately three years of cattle free land according to the local farmers and land owners adjoining the land.
So East Gippsland Water provides a safe place with abundance of food and now the Kangaroos are in their way, of progress of their cropping.
Its not good enough.
So instead of careful planning for the environment they simply choose a quick short term fix
A DEATH SENTENCE
KILL THE KANGAROOS.
Will this solve the issue NO....
You can do better East Gippsland Water and East Gippsland Shire Council speak out and look after the native Wildlife and Environment.
We are in an era now where we need to do things better, for our environment and wildlife.
ATCW (authority to control wildlife)permits
need a total overhaul .
There is no accountability and no oversee of these permits handed out.
Stop the cull.
Pause and review this permit.

According to East Gippsland Water, under their Visions and Commitments on their website, they state numerous quotes.
But these two quotes they fail on.
"We manage our assets well"
"We act sustainability, ethically and responsibly in everything we do"
Choosing to kill Kangaroos is not ethical or responsible. Allowing land to be grazed for three years without pressure of stock without exclusion fencing to keep wildlife out, is not managing assets well.
I personally have written to East Gippsland Water asking for a pause and review, to be able to gain communication with them. I'm offering to work or give them ideas in collaboration with other people also, to help East Gippsland Water manage Kangaroos, with non lethal options. So far I've not received a reply.
Time is against the Kangaroos.
The permit is active May 1st - 31st of July.
Choosing kindness, compassion and understanding in management, is far more ethical, than choosing to kill.
It is sending the wrong message to society, to our children. It is not right to teach our children that killing, is the only way to manage a problem.
We need to do things better....
Thank you to everyone for being a voice for these Kangaroos that don't deserve a death sentence.
East Gippsland Water pause the cull and talk to us.
Give them a chance and do amazing things for the environment.
