🩻 X-ray Vision in Action 🩻
X-rays are one of our most important diagnostic tools, allowing us to look inside your pet’s body quickly and safely.
From horse joints and injured wildlife to broken bones, heart and lung conditions, post-op rechecks, and pets swallowing things they definitely shouldn’t… our X-ray machine helps us diagnose a little bit of everything 🐾
They work by using a small amount of radiation to create images of bones and internal structures. Dense areas like bone show up clearly, while softer tissues appear in shades of grey.
We commonly use X-rays to:
• Check for broken bones or injuries
• Confirm obstructions - foreign objects (like pets who have swallowed toys or bones!)
• Diagnose heart and lung conditions
• Look for signs of arthritis or joint changes
• Check post-operative healing and rechecks
•Confirm and check pregnant pets (counting pups or kittens)
We are very lucky to be able to offer this technology in-clinic, it means we can diagnose problems faster and start treatment sooner — giving your pet the best possible care 💚
