Urban Feline Australia We are a cat rehoming service dedicated to helping your existing pet find a new forever home We do not take on street cats, pregnant mums or kittens.

Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rehoming service dedicated to keeping your existing pets out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. At this stage we unfortunately do not ha

ve the necessary resources to look after these animals and can only handle friendly cats that have lived with people previously. If you need help with a stray cat, a pregnant mum or young kittens please contact our sister rescue Hannah's Haven. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary, aka Cat Paradise, where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them. Only pets that have been desexed, microchipped, recently vaccinated and flea and worm treated can be accepted, for their own protection. Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with a shop front and multiple staff, it a is a very small, one man operation that I run from the safety of my own home in my spare time. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive and all donations received and every cent from adoptions fees goes straight back into the rescue and is used to provide food, litter, toys and pay vet bills. As a very small operation we do ask that owners surrendering cats be willing to make a donation to go towards the ongoing care of their beloved furry feline friend. There is no obligation to do this however, we exist purely to help cats, it is just very helpful and every cent certainly helps. If you would like to find out a little bit more about what we do please check out our other social media or send us a message. We can also be found on Instagram and Youtube under the name Urban Feline Australia and all the cats we currently have available for adoption can be found on our Pet Rescue profile here:

https://www.petrescue.com.au/groups/11970

As a newly established cat rescue service we are always on the lookout for foster carers to lend a hand so if you think you might be able to assist please let us know. Donations are also always welcome. If you have any cat food, litter, medications or toys ect that you're not using and would be happy to donate please give us a shout and we'll be sure to put them to good use. This beautiful little gentleman has a kind spirit, a gentle nature, a big heart and a lot of love to give.

Sadly we found Mateo at a shelter and on a list of cats due to be put down for being "too timid". But luckily, thanks to some amazing people, we were able to get him out of there and give him a second chance at a great life.

We think he must have been a colony cat before he was caught as he was very cat social but terrified of people. He clearly had not had much contact with humans up until that point.

But with time and love he has found his confidence and his beautiful personality has begun to shine through. It has taken a lot of work by some amazing foster carers but Matteo has gone from a cat that hides in the corner to one that will happily sit on the couch next to you and have a pat.

He can still be a bit skittish from time to time, if you move suddenly for example, but for the most part he now understands that us humans aren't so bad.

Matteo enjoys a pat and a scratch, doesn't mind a cuddle from time to time and is slowly getting better at being picked up. As a young fella he still has heaps of energy so play is also a great way to bond.

He is also very food motivated and will forget his fears if you have a yummy treat or are preparing dinner. His adorable little meow will also come out when there's food around.

Matteo is also very VERY cat social and loves his foster sister Pepper. He will follow her around like a bad smell and copy what she does. Pepper has been super important in helping Matteo find his confidence.

For this reason Matteo needs to go to a home that already has a cat-social cat who can take him under their wing and show him the ropes. A cat that's slightly older and who loves other cats would be ideal. Matteo really needs a big brother or sister that he can lean on and learn from when settling into his new forever home.

This beautiful little gentleman is still a work in progress so we would love to find him a home with an experienced cat owner who is willing to continue helping him to find his confidence and give him the time and love he needs to come out of his shell.

When he first arrives in his new forever home he will most likely be quite shy but in the right environment and with the right support we have no doubt that his beautiful personality will shine through and you'll find yourself with a sweet and affectionate little ball of love on your hands.

Mateo is approximately 8 months old and has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow.

If you think you have the room in your heart and your home to provide this gorgeous little fella with a great life please let us know and weโ€™ll be more than happy to arrange a time for you to meet and fall in love with him.

Located in Rowville with our amazing foster carers.

This gorgeous chunky monkey is Milo and he's on the lookout for his new forever home.

He is very sweet, very loving, very affectionate and just adores human company.

Milo was well loved by his previous people but sadly his previous home was a tad unstable at times. This home complete with many other pets and grumpy, noisy teenagers made Milo understandably anxious and he clearly was not happy, so his people decided the kindest thing was to find him a new home in a less stressful environment. But his previous owner loved him dearly and was sadly to see him go.

Since arriving in his foster home Milo has become a completely different cat. Now that he has a quiet home all to himself he has quickly relaxed and his beautiful personality has begun to shine through.

As an older cat Milo enjoys hanging out and doing his own thing but he also loves people. He enjoys a pat and a scratch, loves a cuddle, enjoys a tummy rub and a brush and will sleep on your bed with you if you let him.

He's not big on sitting on laps but will happily sit next to you while you watch you're favourite show. He is also quite a big boy so there is plenty of him to love.

Milo is used to living as an indoor / outdoor cat so a home with outdoor access would be ideal but so far he is enjoying cushy apartment living with his foster family in the CBD. He is also trained to walk on a lead and harness so supervised outdoor time may be an option.

We would love to find Milo a nice quiet home where he can kick back, relax and have a cuddle when he's in the mood. A single professional who works from home or a retiree would be a perfect fit.

If you're looking to add a chubby ball of love to your home then Milo is just the cat for you.

Milo is approximately 10 years old and has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow.

If you think you have the room in your heart and your home to provide this gorgeous little soul with a great life please let us know and weโ€™ll be more than happy to arrange a time for you to meet and fall in love with him.

Located in the Melbourne CBD with our amazing foster carers.

Hey friends,

Is anyone in a position to foster this handsome little gentleman?

His owner is moving overseas at the end of the month and cannot take him with them.

His name is "Thiefy" and they don't know his exact age but believe he's about 10. And as you can see he's a sweet, affectionate and loving little fellow.

Desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Collection would be from Urban Feline HQ in Wantirna South.

Please send us a message if you think you'd be happy to bring Thiefy into your home and shower him with love until a new forever home can be found.

Thanks ๐Ÿ™

Ballarat shelter cat update.

We were able to take on Bagheera and Nina ourselves so they are now safely in the care of our superstar foster carers. And apparently another rescue came through yesterday and took on a further 16 cats, including Norma, Cherry and Jimmy ๐Ÿคฏ

So all the cats that were struggling in the shelter, plus a whole lot more, are now safe and sound and one step closer to finding a new forever home.

Thank you to everyone who shared their post and offered to help ๐Ÿ™

We have some sad news to report today regarding Harold. He has crossed the rainbow bridge ๐Ÿ˜ข

Thanks to the amazing number of people who shared his post we were able to find someone who was keen to adopt the old fella, we were able to organise transport to our vet and an amazing number of people had offered to donate towards his medical care, so we had reached out to the shelter to let them know we were happy to take him.

But unfortunately this was just not meant to be.

After further examination it was discovered that Harold's mouth was worse than initially thought. Vets could not rule out a tumour on his jaw and his tongue had become severely ulcerated over the last week.

The poor guy was obviously in a lot of pain so the team at the shelter decided that humane euthanasia was the best option and Harold is now at peace.

Thank you so much to everyone who had shared his post and offered to help Harold. The responses we received to his story were really heartwarming and it's great to know that there are so many kind and generous people out there who love cats as much as we do ๐Ÿ˜Š

These two gorgeous kitty cats are Pearl and Ty and we're currently in the process of teaching them that humans aren't so bad ๐Ÿ˜Š

As you can see they are still very scared.

Pearl and Ty are two of the shelter cats that we were fortunately able to help recently when we heard they were due to be put down due to being too timid.

Their time in captivity has obviously been quite traumatizing, as they have been a very slow burn, but we are slowly getting there and improving bit by bit every day.

Pearl the silver tabby will hiss and growl at you but will let you pat her grudgingly. Ty the tuxedo is less vocal and will just try and get as far away from you as he can but he will also tolerate pats.

Both kitties can be handled but only when they're in a confined space like this. They're getting braver all the time but are still very scared.

They have both recently started accepting being fed treats by hand so it's clear that they are beginning to trust us but we still have a long way to go.

One day it will be like a switch has been flicked and they'll randomly start demanding attention but for now it's baby steps ๐Ÿพ

โค๏ธUpdate โค๏ธ Harold has crossed the rainbow bridge ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ˜ข

Our vet is happy to perform his dental work and thanks to everyone sharing his post, we've found someone who is happy to adopt Harold and is in a position to manage any future health complications that may arise.

We still need to investigate further, as we need a better understanding of his current health concerns before going ahead, but assuming everything goes well we just need to organize transport from the shelter in Ballarat to our vet in Bayswater and from there he will be heading straight to his new forever home to recover.

We will also be hoping to crowd fund the cost of his dental surgery, and any other health concerns that may come up, so that he arrives in his new forever home with everything done, and his new forever family don't need to worry about the finances and can focus on showering him with love.

Please keep an eye on the page for details of where to donate ๐Ÿ’ธ

Thank you to everyone who has shared his story and offered to donate. With a bit of luck Harold will soon be out of his cage and living comfortably in his new home.

โค๏ธUpdate โค๏ธ Harold has crossed the rainbow bridge ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ˜ข

Can anyone help Harold?

Sadly this little gentleman is in a pretty bad way and is due to cross the rainbow bridge soon if help cannot be found.

Harold is a 9 year old male tabby with very calm and relaxed personality, who loves people and just needs a loving home where he can relax and live out his golden years.

He recently arrived at a shelter in Ballarat as a stray.

According to the vets notes Harold has severe dental disease and will most likely require a full mouth extraction. They recommend a full blood workup prior to any treatment and have been unable to give him pain medication due to possible underlying kidney issues.

We have emailed our vet for advice but Harold's case is well and truly outside our area of expertise and is almost certainly going to be beyond our ability to help with.

We're sharing his story in the hope that someone out there might be able to take Harold on and provide him with the medical care he desperately needs.

We can potentially recommend some great vets who may be able to provide medical care at a more affordable rate and we would be happy to crowd fund to try and raise funds to go towards his medical care.

But we're really hoping to find a hero who is happy to adopt this beautiful soul and take him on despite the fact that he may have some serious health concerns. Or even a bigger rescue organization who has the funds, expertise and ability to provide Harold with what he needs.

Please reach out if you think you can help.

Hi friends,

Is anyone in the Ballarat area in a position to foster or adopt one of these beautiful kitty cats ?

These gorgeous souls are currently located in a shelter in Ballarat and are struggling in captivity so staff have reached out to see if any rescues would be in a position to take them on.

These cats can only be surrendered directly to a rescue so we would be happy to have them surrendered into our care, and to facilitate their adoption, but we don't currently have the space to house them. So we're hoping to find someone who's willing to take them into their home and treat them with love until their new forever home can be found.

If you're located in the Ballarat are ( or are happy to drive ) and think you might be in a position to foster one of these gorgeous kitty cats please let us know and we'll be more than happy to have a chat to discuss how the fostering process works.

More details of each cat are below.

Thanks legends.
