Urban Feline Australia We are a cat rehoming service dedicated to helping your existing pet find a new forever home We do not take on street cats, pregnant mums or kittens.

Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rehoming service dedicated to keeping your existing pets out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. At this stage we unfortunately do not ha

ve the necessary resources to look after these animals and can only handle friendly cats that have lived with people previously. If you need help with a stray cat, a pregnant mum or young kittens please contact our sister rescue Hannah's Haven. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary, aka Cat Paradise, where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them. Only pets that have been desexed, microchipped, recently vaccinated and flea and worm treated can be accepted, for their own protection. Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with a shop front and multiple staff, it a is a very small, one man operation that I run from the safety of my own home in my spare time. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive and all donations received and every cent from adoptions fees goes straight back into the rescue and is used to provide food, litter, toys and pay vet bills. As a very small operation we do ask that owners surrendering cats be willing to make a donation to go towards the ongoing care of their beloved furry feline friend. There is no obligation to do this however, we exist purely to help cats, it is just very helpful and every cent certainly helps. Congratulations to all our recent graduates who were lucky enough to find their new forever homes with amazing people 🥳🎊🎉

Jaspers family loved him dearly but felt like they could not provide the ideal home for him so they reached out to us for help.

He found a new home with three lovely adults who were seeking an affectionate mouser, so he now splits his time between having cuddles on the couch and chasing the mice around the home.

Luna was well loved by her previous family but sadly, due to changing circumstances, they could no longer give her the love and attention that she deserves.

She’s found a new home with a lovely woman and it seems like it was love at first sight for both parties as the lovely Luna, who’s normally shy at first, was all purrs and cuddles from the second she stepped out of her cat carrier.

Casper and Thumper were adopted last year by a lovely young couple but with a baby on the way they realised they were not going to be able to give them the attention and environment they deserved.

The boys found a new home with a lovely family of mum, dad and young son who were all instantly in love with them. They have settled in famously, not wasting any time climbing all over their new people and demanding attention.

Hamish was rescued as a young kitten and lived with the same lovely people for 8 years, until they unfortunately found themselves in the position where they were living in between multiple homes while caring for sick relatives and could not give Hamish the attention he deserved.

This little gentleman has found a new home with a lovely older woman who was seeking a loving companion to brighten her home. And she cannot be happier, sending us photos of Hamish loving life almost every day.

Until recently Monkey had been living with a lovely “cat woman” who seemed to attract cats in need. She turned up one day and just never left.

Sadly this person had to uproot their life and move home and could not take this little darling with them.

The quiet, gentle and often shy little Monkey has found her ideal home in a peaceful household with a lovely older woman where she can relax and come out when she’s ready 🙂❤

Congratulations and thank you to their new forever families for putting their hands up to give these kitties a second chance at a great life.

Meet Inky & Dexter – The Ultimate Shrek & Donkey Duo! 🧅🐴

Looking for a hilarious, heartwarming pair that brings all the magic of Shrek and his best friend Donkey into your home? These two bonded black-and-white tuxedo boys are the real deal, a perfect odd-couple friendship straight out of the swamp!

Dexter (5 years old) is your Shrek:

A striking, confident black-and-white gentleman who carries himself with cool, quiet charm. He’s independent, loves his personal space, and enjoys lounging in the best spots in the house like the king of the swamp.

Dexter is naturally curious and observant, approaching life at his own steady pace. He’s not loud or demanding, he’s sophisticated, calm, and intelligent, often choosing high vantage points to watch the world go by. But beneath that “get off my lawn” exterior is a big warm heart full of loyalty. He shows love in sweet, subtle ways, a gentle head bump, a soft purr, or simply choosing to settle near you.

Inky (2 years old) is your Donkey:

A younger, endlessly affectionate, and very vocal little mate who absolutely adores Dexter and follows him everywhere. Just like Donkey needs Shrek, Inky needs Dexter in his life.

He’s a big snuggle bug (on his terms) who loves belly rubs, head scratches, and diving under the covers with you at bedtime. Inky is super vocal, he’ll tell you exactly what he wants, when he wants it! Expect him to follow you around the house (yes, even to the toilet), give you little headbutts at mealtime if you’re moving too slow, and zoom around with late-night kitten energy before curling up for cuddles.

Together, they’re the perfect balance. Dexter values his independence but has a genuine soft spot for his clingy best friend. Inky brings the energy, chatter, and extra affection, while Dexter brings the calm, cool confidence. They complement each other beautifully and are clearly happiest when they can stay together.

Their Story

These two handsome boys were well loved by their previous family, but with the arrival of a new baby, their owners made the responsible and loving decision to surrender them so they could find a home that can give them the time and attention they deserve.

What They’re Looking For

Inky & Dexter would love a home where they can:

Snuggle on the couch.
Sunbake together by a window (they love getting their “tan” on)
Enjoy gentle playtime and cheeky snuggles on their own terms

They are both indoor cats but enjoy safe outdoor rolls and strolls. Inky can get quite warm in the sun due to his black coat, so plenty of shady spots and windows are ideal. They’d do best in a relatively calm home, they’re friendly and affectionate but would prefer no very young, loud children.

This bonded pair is ready to bring laughter, love, and a whole lot of personality into your life, just like Shrek and Donkey, they prove that sometimes the best friendships are a little grumpy + a lot clingy.

Check out this crazy cuteness from the adorable duo of Poppet and Little One.

These two sisters are so incredibly adorable it’s not even fair.

Poppet, the tabby, will find you the second you sit down or lie down in bed and will snuggle up close, or on you, and purr loudly and contently.

She’s a true lap cat and a serious cuddle bug.

Little One, the tabby and ginger, will perk up her ears, look adorable and give you a chirp, as you walk past, in the hope that you’ll pick her up and give her a cuddle. Which of course you just cannot resist doing.

She loves to be carried around like a doll and will snuggle up under your chin, making it almost impossible to put her down.

We had a friend come past yesterday and within seconds Little One had made her way into their arms. Where she stayed until they had to go.

Both girls are super affectionate, love to play, and are guaranteed to bring joy wherever they go.

If you’re looking to adopt a pair of incredibly adorable 6 month old little ladies please let us know. We have a truly special pair in our care.

Urban Feline Australia is a tiny one-man rescue run with a whole lot of heart and amazing support from our small network of dedicated super foster carers.

Every week we pour everything we have into rescuing surrendered cats, keeping them safe and loved in foster care, getting them the veterinary treatment they need, and finding them their perfect forever homes.

This little rescue literally survives on the kindness of strangers. And that’s where you come in.

Hey friends 👋

We’ve had a few people ask what we feed our own cats recently so we thought we’d put together another meal prep video 😊

But there’s no big secret. Our home made cat food is basically 98% human grade mince and 2% superfoods.

The base for this batch is minced pork thanks to our good friends at BM Animals

Once this has been cooked and allowed to cool we’ve then added:

Baby spinach for vitamins and minerals.
Blueberries for antioxidants.
Papaya to help balance insulin levels.
Eggs for protein and biotin.
Sardines for good fats and calcium.
Flaxseed meal for good fats and fibre.
And a supergreen / probiotic powder for gut health.

The superfoods and base protein will change depending on what our goals are at that time but this is the basic formula that we follow.

We also regularly feed our cats raw chicken necks and raw chicken wings for their teeth.

This handsome little gentleman is one of our newest arrivals named Mishka aka Mr. Affectionate and he’s on the lookout for his new home.

Sadly Mr. Affectionate was surrendered to a vet clinic recently, where he stayed for two weeks, until friends of ours came across him and just had to bring him home.

Once he was safe and sound they then reached out to us for help finding his new forever family.

From what we understand, Mishka had lived with the one person since he was a kitten. But recently they decided to adopt another cat, which Mishka was not impressed with, so they decided to surrender him to their local vet clinic.

But it’s their loss because some lucky person is about to adopt one of the most affectionate cats we’ve ever met.

From the second Mr. Affectionate arrived in his foster home he was all purrs and cuddles, head boops and smooches. He also has the most adorable habit of reaching out with his paw to politely let you know he would like more affection.

Mr. Affectionate would thrive in a quiet, stable home with patient humans who are ready to give and receive endless love. If you want a cat who will greet you with pure Olaf-level joy, snuggle on the couch, and make every day feel warmer and brighter, Mishka is your perfect match.

He’s gentle, loyal, and deeply rewarding, a true “warm hugs” specialist in a silver tabby coat.

Little Mishka (Mr. Affectionate) has so much love to give. Just like Olaf found his place with warm hugs and good friends, this sweet boy is ready to find his forever family and shower them with endless affection.

Meet Eevee – Your Gentle, Cuddly Tabby Companion, Inspired by the Pokémon Classic.

If you’ve ever dreamed of welcoming a real-life Eevee into your home, that iconic Pokémon known for its adorable charm, versatile spirit, and heart-melting sweetness, then this beautiful tabby girl might be the perfect match.

Thankfully, one of our dedicated foster carers, who lived just around the corner, stepped in immediately to bring her into a calm, comfortable home. At first she was understandably unsettled by the changes, but her foster dad’s consistent reassurance helped her relax and blossom.

Now, Eevee’s true personality shines brightly. She has become a serious lap cat who actively seeks out cuddles and warmth. She loves nothing more than climbing into your lap for long, contented snuggle sessions, soaking up gentle pats, chin scratches, and all the affection you can give. Her purrs and quiet headbutts say it all, she’s incredibly loving and thrives on close companionship.

While she still carries that classic tabby independence (happily entertaining herself with toys or exploring when you’re busy), she consistently chooses to join her people on the couch or bed for those special bonding moments.

Just like the Pokémon Eevee, who can adapt smoothly to any environment and evolve in wonderful ways, this girl has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability. She travels incredibly well and handled a short “holiday” at her foster carer’s mum’s house with ease, quickly exploring her new surroundings and flourishing in the bigger space with plenty of new spots to discover.

Eevee would likely thrive best in a quiet, loving home with a young single person or couple who can offer her the attention and affection she clearly craves. Her kind, gentle spirit suggests she could adapt well to other pets with slow, proper introductions, though we don’t yet know her full history with children or animals.

She shines brightest when she can be the cherished centre of attention in a peaceful household.

This sweet tabby princess is healthy, gentle, and ready to fill your home with warmth, purrs, and unconditional love, just like the Pokémon fans adore for its innocent charm and loyal heart.

Gotham’s most adorable independent lady is ready for her forever home

Meet Pussty, our real-life Catwoman. A sleek, beautiful 7-year-old feline with serious Selina Kyle energy.

Pussty previously lived with an older gentleman who worked long hours, which meant she spent most of her time outdoors doing her own thing. Just like Catwoman in her early days, she was aloof, fiercely independent, and perfectly content living by her own rules with that unmistakable “I don’t need anyone” rooftop vibe.

But once she was surrendered into our care and found herself in a loving foster home, everything changed.

Shown consistent love and a safe environment, Pussty has undergone a full Catwoman redemption arc.

This formerly aloof and independent girl has blossomed into the ultimate velcro lap cat. She now patiently waits for her foster carer to sit down (especially with a glass of wine in hand), then immediately leaps into their lap like it’s her rightful throne. She settles in with the loudest, happiest purrs, melting completely as she soaks up all the affection she once kept at a distance.

Just like Catwoman prowling across rooftops, Pussty absolutely loves to play! She’s obsessed with her cat tunnel, expertly hiding inside, stalking, pouncing, and bouncing around with pure joy as she chases imaginary prey. These high-energy zoomie sessions are hilarious to watch and show off her playful, athletic side.

Pussty still has that strong, independent Catwoman spirit, she’s wonderfully low-maintenance, happy to entertain herself during the day with zoomies through her tunnel, chasing wand toys, or pouncing on imaginary prey. But when you’re home? She’s all about the cuddles. She’s sweet, gentle, and incredibly affectionate once she decides you’re her person.

This gorgeous girl offers the perfect mix of playful energy and warm, loving companionship. She’s calm and easy-going, tolerates other cats, and has adapted wonderfully to comfortable indoor living. She does not even seem to miss the outdoors.

Pussty is looking for her forever Bruce Wayne, someone who appreciates a cat with her own mysterious independence but a very soft, loving heart.

Whether you’re a retiree, a homebody, or just someone who wants a quiet, enriching bond with a special girl, she’s ready to claim your couch (and your heart) as her new Gotham.

This incredibly beautiful and photogenic little lady is Smokey and she’s on the lookout for her new forever home.

Smokey is a beautiful, sweet-natured girl with a smoky grey and white coat, the softest white fur, and striking green eyes that sparkle with quiet curiosity. This graceful lady is affectionate in her own special way, with a mix of quiet regal independence and gentle sweetness, she will constantly delight with endearing little quirks and the cutest trills and chirps.

Smokey came to us from a loving family who found her as a tiny kitten wandering outside. Their daughter instantly fell in love with her, and she was raised in a warm, caring home. Sadly, with their daughter having moved out and the family relocating, they made the difficult decision to find her the perfect new forever home where she can continue to thrive and be cherished.

While naturally a little timid at first, Smokey warms up beautifully once she feels safe and settled. Although not a lap cat, Smokey enjoys being near her people on her own terms, rubbing against legs, sitting nearby on the couch or sleeping at the foot of the bed. During the day you'll find her perched by the window watching the world go by, having moments of curiosity, or dozing peacefully in a comfortable sunny spot.

She purrs readily and deeply when enjoying chin scratches, but she’ll walk away when she’s had enough. Smokey is a refined eater who grazes quietly on her biscuits and isn’t overly food-driven, though she gets genuinely excited for treats expressing her joy with excited meows.

She has charming bursts of playful energy with occasional zoomies. Her absolute favourite game is the laser pointer. Watching her transform into a focused little hunter, creeping, stalking, and launching lightning-fast pounces, is endlessly entertaining and reveals her spirited, agile side.

She would thrive best in a calm home with a patient owner who appreciates her low-maintenance, yet quietly loving presence. As she doesn't like being picked up, a household with older children who can respect her boundaries would suit her best. Access to a secure outdoor area or balcony would be a wonderful bonus for her to watch the world go by.

Meet Anna & Elsa, our two beautiful tabby sisters who are just like the royal sisters from Frozen, sweet, gentle, and a little shy!

These adorable girls may start off as timid as Elsa hiding in her ice palace, but with time, patience, and a loving home, they’ll slowly “Let It Go” and reveal their warm, gentle hearts.

Because they were taken from their mother very young ( we think), they missed important early socialization, which is why they can be quite nervous around new people at first. But once they feel safe and secure in their new kingdom, they become curious explorers who love quietly checking out their surroundings.

Anna & Elsa are incredibly bonded and do everything together. They make the perfect low-maintenance companions for a busy professional who works long hours from home. Just like Elsa, they prefer their own space but will happily stay close by, watching you work from a cozy corner, keeping a gentle eye on you from across the room, or sitting quietly nearby while you relax. They offer that soft, comforting “I’m here with you” presence without demanding constant attention or cuddles.

In the beginning, they may tuck themselves away in quiet spots (wardrobes, under beds, or cosy corners) as they adjust, just like Elsa building her ice castle. They tend to be more active at night during the settling-in period, but once they thaw out and gain confidence, you’ll see their sweet, playful personalities shine through. They are affectionate in their own special way: soft eyes, gentle proximity, and quiet companionship.

These girls have the kindest, most endearing natures with zero aggression. While they’re not yet comfortable being picked up, their beauty lies in their peaceful presence and growing trust. With patience, they will blossom into wonderful, loving companions on their own terms.

Anna & Elsa are approximately 4.5 years old. They are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and fully up to date with flea and worm treatment.

They must be adopted together as a bonded pair, after all, “do you want to build a snowman?”… or in their case, build a happy life together!

They would thrive best in a calm, stable home (their own little Arendelle) with plenty of windows to observe the world, cozy hiding spots, and a patient human who appreciates gentle, low-key companionship. Ideal for someone who wants a peaceful, loving presence in the home without high-maintenance demands.
