Working Equitation is the ultimate equestrian discipline in creating harmony between horse and rider with a strong focus on training and versatility.
There are four phases in a competition: Dressage, Ease of Handling, Speed and Cattle.
Dressage is the first phase demonstrating harmony and precision. The obstacles used in the Ease of Handling and Speed phases are those typically found in the field (gate, bridge etc) working with cattle (stock pen, oilskin, bull) or used for training. The Cattle phase brings all three phases together to work with cattle in a team event. This phase is optional in competition.
This clinic is open to all riders and is a great opportunity to the sport or come and practice your existing skills. There will be small classes in the morning incorporating WE Dressage and Ease of Handline Obstacles, then a short course in the afternoon and/or additional classes if participants want it.
Starting at 9am with classes finishing at 1pm, Riders can have up to two lessons either in hand or ridden, juniors or adults. There will be a Q&A session with the coaches over lunch, and canteen available.
Classes and you can choose from:
WE Dressage – Utilising riding patterns over poles and cones to create harmony and precision in dressage movements that you will use later on the obstacles.
Ease of Handling —The obstacles are those typically found in the field (gate, bridge) or working with cattle (stock pen, oilskin) or used for training (bull, slalom). They are standard across Australia and the world.
Ease of Handling (short course) – ride a course of 8 obstacles, navigate and choose the best line, receive feedback and try again.
