β οΈ WARNING!! The beginning of our Aussie hot days has arrived. Heat stroke is quite common and can be deadly to dogs.
Please read the diagram and look for these signs....
Excessive thick drooling, heavy breathing/panting, red gums/tongue, unsteadiness on legs or collapse. If the symptoms are more minor, get your dog under a hose, in the shade and bring down their body temperature. If the symptoms are more severe, DO NOT DELAY, its life threatening.
Flat faced dogs such as any type of Bulldog, Boxers, pugs etc, young pups, long haired dogs are at more risk than others. Many dogs per year are lost with sudden collapse and death due to heat stroke.
