Congratulations to the owners of SUNROE on a fantastic win yesterday at Wagga. It’s great to get a result for a great bunch of owners with a horse that we bred. A big thank you to Billy for a great ride!

In a recent interview with Dave Stanley, Doug takes a moment to reflect on the mighty mare ASGARDA and his two biggest career achievements to date - winning the Country Championships and running in the $2m Kosciusko.

ASGARDA showed us just how tough she is. From 27 race starts the results speak for themself:

🏆 2024 Country Championships Final winner
🏇 5th place in the 2024 Kosciuszko
🌟 SDRA 2024 Horse of the Year

ASGARDA is now in training with John Sargent. There’s no doubt that we were sad to see her go. But no matter her journey, she will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone involved at DGR. If she’s not quite up to the city riches then she’ll be home to chase more country glory!

We can’t wait to see what more she can achieve throughout her terrific career.

Today marks a whole year since we won the Country Championships with our mighty mare ASGARDA. 12-months ago we were at Royal Randwick feeling excited but nervous about our chance in the big race. ASGARDA turned that day into one of the best days of our racing career to date! The sheer joy and excitement as she crossed the line showing the whole of NSW Country Racing that she had exactly what it took to win such a big race.

This race is such a great initiative for country racing and is something we all strive to win.

Good luck to all the contenders today! Enjoy the day. Enjoy the moment.

Congratulations to the connections of ASGARDA, Kooringal Stud and jockey John Kissick on the win yesterday at Albury 🥇

With a heavy 9 track and a race run to suit our mighty mare took out the race like a walk in the park. We loved having her back in her element and watching her once again win with ease!

We’re excited to have ASGARDA back and racing after a very well deserved break. We can’t wait to see what she can do this preparation 🏇
