The chilly nights are upon us and the dreaded musical rugs has begun! Please remember that although the nights are chilly, the days remain beautiful and sunny! Horses with synthetic rugs on will overheat on days like this, even with a light fill. Overheating can cause dehydration, fatigue, and other very serious health issues. If in doubt or if you can’t do the rug changes, don’t rug!

Rain finally! Paddocks have been dry for a while at Arundel Park. Fingers crossed for some grass growth.

Here's a fun fact-
When it rains, horses will often turn their backsides (hindquarters) to the wind and rain. This is a natural, protective behavior because their large, rounded backsides act as a shield, protecting their sensitive face, eyes, and nostrils from stinging rain and wind.
