⭐ 🥳 BIG NEWS! Forever Friends Animal Rescue is Celebrating its 10th Year! 🥳 ⭐️
This week, we will be sharing a memorable story from each of these 10 years.
Tonight: 2014 - Lucky, an elderly fella with a MOST bizarre nightly habit!
'Lucky was a stray, found wandering the streets with a severely broken leg. The pound was going to euthanise him, but luckily I was there that day and I saw life in this boy that needed to be lived. So FFAR took Lucky on, and fundraised for $3000 operation needed to pin his broken leg.
We tried to find Lucky a forever home, however he presented with severe anxiety everywhere he went, except at his foster home with us, so with us he stayed. It was his way of saying he didn't want to leave.
Lucky greeted everyone he met, human or animal with a smile. The beach was his favourite place in the world and the kids were his favourite things.
Luck had some odd and fascinating quirks. The most extraordinary one was that every night, before dusk, he would move about the back yard flipping and rearranging th outdoor furniture, toys and dog beds! At first I moved everything out of his way in fear he'd hurt himself, but he only became stressed by this. So we left things for him to move safely. He'd flip what he could, move it to where he wanted it, check it was all 'in place' and only then he'd be happy to eat, come inside and relax!
We only had 8 short months with our Luck Star, but he left his footprints all over our hearts. He taught us so much about patience, about finding happiness in the smallest things, the beauty of running free on the beach, loving unconditionally and living in the moment.
Lucky had an impact on everyone who met him and he will forever be one of my greatest loves.' - Lisa, FFAR Volunteer
