Every dog deserves a place where they can rest without being disturbed.

Whether it's a crate, a bed, or a quiet room, this should be your dog's safe retreat.

Teach children that when a dog chooses to rest in their safe space:
🚫 No cuddling
🚫 No following
🚫 No disturbing

Respecting a dog's need for space helps them feel safe and can reduce stress.

A dog that knows they can walk away is less likely to feel the need to defend themselves.

Geraldton Dog Rescue can engrave personalised name tags for your pets. Orders can be placed via our Facebook shop or website. Name tags are $10.00 ea. Postage or delivery is an extra $2.00. Tags can be ordered and collected at an arranged time for just $10.00.

This is another way that we fundraise, while at the same time keeping pets safe. Some smart people even ask us to add their dog's City of Greater Geraldton registration number on the tag.

We’ve been busy rehoming dogs & pups, so our page is looking a little empty. Our website is working, there’s just no dogs advertised. The rangers at City of Greater Geraldton advise Geraldton Dog Rescue when dogs have completed pound time and are ready for us to rescue. It’s also good that many dogs have got microchips so they can be returned to their owners. Geraldton Dog Rescue is foster carer based. There can be dogs at the pound that we can not manage, so they’re offered to other rescue groups.

Please keep following our website and social media platforms to see what dogs & pups were rescuing. When dogs & pups are available to adopt the photos are uploaded to the album “Available for Adoption” on our page & only those photos feed across to our website. If you don’t have Facebook you can follow our feed via the “Contact Us” tab on our website.

All adoption enquiries are taken by our coordinator. Please phone us on 0400219719 & if our phone is unattended, leave a message stating your name, number and a brief reason for calling. Our coordinator will contact you as soon as possible.

Geraldton Dog Rescue is comprised of volunteers who give their time to rescue & rehome suitable dogs & pups from the City of Greater Geraldton Animal Management Facility (pound) after they’ve completed pound time and have been offered to us to rehome.

Our volunteers cannot assist with rescue of dogs, cats or any other animals that might be trapped, lost or not being cared for in the manner you believe is unacceptable. If you see or find an animal requiring assistance, you are advised to contact the City of Greater Geraldton rangers or the RSPCA hotline. For immediate life threatening situations for humans, please contact the police.

Please understand the role that our organisation has been doing for over 20 years, is voluntarily rescuing unclaimed or unwanted dogs & pups from the pound. We will continue to block phone numbers & social media profiles when abuse is directed to our volunteers. We are foster carer based, so our building is not open to the public. There are no dogs or pups at our building for viewing.

We thank the many followers and supporters of Geraldton Dog Rescue who are polite and understanding of what it takes to show up at rescue. So we hope that we can educate those who think that we’re paid to meet deadlines & should be available to answer calls, text & emails at all hours of the day & night & take abuse.

To enquire about meeting dogs or pups, please phone our coordinator on 0400219719. If we aren’t able to take your call when you phone, please leave a message so your call is logged and returned. Your call might not be returned the same day, but it will be returned as soon as possible.
