There’s just something about Odin. 🤍

Maybe it’s the way he quietly sits at your feet looking up at you like you’re the most important person in the world… or maybe it’s those beautifully symmetrical classic Border Collie markings that make him look like he’s walked straight out of a storybook.

Odin was the smallest boy at birth, but you’d never know it now. He’s grown into such a sweet, people-oriented young boy who genuinely just wants to be near you. He’s playful without being over the top, affectionate without being demanding, and has such a calm, lovely nature for an 11 week old pup.

He and his brother spend their days carrying toys out across the lawn like tiny little collectors, then happily settle and sleep through the night outside in their pen without fuss.

Honestly… he’s just a really easy boy to love.

I have a feeling whoever ends up with this sweet soul is going to wonder how they ever lived without him.

Indiana is settling beautifully into life with Claudia and Sylvain, and honestly… this update made me smile so much 🥹

Claudia sent through this gorgeous little training video of Indiana learning her commands — in French 🇫🇷

So while most of us are out here struggled through high school French, this tiny Border Collie is already mastering sit, lay down… and attempting a crawl 😅 The crawl is still a work in progress, but honestly, the effort alone deserves applause.

It’s amazing how quickly these clever pups connect words, routines and communication, no matter the language. Indiana is looking so engaged, confident and eager to learn already, and you can see the beautiful bond forming between them all ❤️

Thank you Claudia and Sylvain for the lovely update. I genuinely love seeing where these puppies end up and the lives they grow into.

And then there were two. 🤍🖤

The two little black and white boys of the litter are still here with us at Takilberan Border Collies, and honestly… they’ve made themselves very easy to adore.

Black and white boys often don’t create the same instant frenzy as the merles, but there’s something so timeless about a beautifully marked traditional boy. Gentle eyes, striking contrast, soft temperaments… they really are special in their own quiet way.

Odin is impossible not to notice. His markings are so beautifully balanced and symmetrical that he turns heads wherever he goes, but underneath that striking little face is the sweetest nature. Calm, gentle and affectionate, with just enough cheekiness to keep life interesting.

And then there’s Apollo.

Most people have followed Apollo’s journey from the very beginning — our tiny little fighter who kept us on our toes for a while there. Watching him catch up to his siblings has been something pretty special. He’s come ahead in leaps and bounds and has turned into the happiest little character. Sweet, cheeky, playful and full of personality, with that little spark that says he’s got plenty of determination tucked inside him.

The house feels quieter these days as puppies leave one by one, but these two boys are still soaking up every cuddle, every play session and every bit of attention while they’re here. And I have a feeling their people are going to think they were well worth the wait.

Ralph has officially headed off to begin his next adventure with Erin in Mayfield, after a stopover in Coffs Harbour on Monday night.

Ralph, who many of you knew as Thor, was our beautiful chocolate merle boy and such a gentle soul. He was the third biggest in the litter when he was born, but by the time he left, he was definitely the biggest of the bunch.

He reminded me a lot of Ollie from Sunny’s litter — a proper gentle giant with a lovely, soft nature.

After my mix-up with pickup days earlier in the afternoon, I then found myself running late getting Ralph to where he needed to go as well. That was completely my fault, and I was very grateful to Erin’s stepmum, Mel, who kindly drove a bit further and met me in Kyogle instead of Casino. It made things a lot easier on what had turned into a slightly chaotic afternoon.

Before he left, my girls also gave Ralph a bath for me. He wasn’t quite as convinced as Hadley was about the whole bath situation and kept lying down while the girls were trying to wash him. Whether he was relaxed or just wondering what on earth was happening, I’m not entirely sure, but he got through it beautifully.

He then travelled really well with me to Kyogle before continuing on with Mel.

I will miss this beautiful boy greatly. He really was such a sweet, gentle giant, and I’m so glad he has headed off to a home where he will be loved.

Thank you again to Erin for choosing Ralph, and a very big thank you again to Mel for helping make the afternoon work.

I’m looking forward to hearing how Ralph settles in and watching him grow with his new family.

Hadley has officially joined her new family with Maureen and Pete, and by the sounds of it, our cheeky little black and white girl has settled in beautifully already.

She’ll also be very loved by Maureen and Pete’s grown daughter upstairs, who had apparently been waiting patiently… okay, not so patiently 😄… for Hadley to arrive.

Monday afternoon ended up being a little more chaotic than planned after I completely mixed my days up and realised Hadley’s family were arriving that afternoon, not the next day. So there was a sudden flurry of finishing puppy packs, double-checking information folders, gathering all her things together, and trying to look far more organised than I actually was.

Thankfully my two girls stepped in and took over bath duty for Hadley while I ran around in circles. Hadley was more than happy with the arrangement too. She thoroughly enjoyed the pampering and happily posed for photos like she knew exactly how cute she was.

I’ve already loved receiving the first little updates from Maureen. Hadley has been busy exploring her toys, taking in all the new sounds around her — including a nearby helicopter rescue — and sounding very pleased with herself in general.

It was also really lovely hearing how much they appreciated the information folder and support that went home with her. A lot of time and care goes into putting those together, so hearing that feedback always means a lot.

And perhaps my favourite update so far… “You can’t have her back!!” 😄

It’s always bittersweet watching them leave, especially the cheeky ones that leave their mark on the home, but it makes it easier knowing they’re heading into homes where they’ll be genuinely loved.

Thank you again to Maureen and Pete for choosing one of my babies, and another big thank you to my girls for jumping in to help when I accidentally created a mini whirlwind for herself.

I’m really looking forward to continuing to watch Hadley grow and hearing future updates from her new family.

There’s something about those last cuddles before they leave… not dramatic, just a quiet moment where you make sure you don’t rush it.

Indiana (our Venus girl) made the trip to Adelaide yesterday to join Claudia and Sylvain.

Sadly, I was away for the weekend, so my husband stepped in and handled everything—bath, prep, and the Brisbane airport run—and it all went smoothly.

I made sure I got my time before I left though. Indiana got some extra special cuddles… the kind where you slow down a bit and take it in. Those moments are in this carousel.

Since landing, the updates have been exactly what you hope for. First night came with a little bit of crying, but she’s already settled into a routine with her crate and playpen. Every toilet has been outside, she’s eating and playing beautifully, and those tiny needle teeth are already keeping everyone on their toes while they set some early rules.

“She’s just a blissful beautiful girl.”

That line sums her up perfectly.

She’s sleeping deeply and not missing a beat—noise, movement, everyday life… none of it phases her. Just quietly getting on with it. And today she’s meeting Nala, a five-month-old Border Collie, which feels like the start of something pretty special.

Claudia, thank you for the updates. I never get tired of hearing how Indiana is settling in and growing into her new life. I’m looking forward to watching her journey with you.

A little update on Holly, and she’s doing exactly what you’d hope.

She’s grown into one of those dogs who just wants to be part of everything—never far from her people, always close by, just quietly in the mix.

And she’s definitely found her own way of chatting… her squeaky toys get a solid workout, with a bit of a bagpipe vibe thrown in for good measure.

She’s a much-loved girl, and it shows.

Thank you, Louise, for the update—it never gets old hearing how these pups are going. I always love hearing from my families and look forward to more updates on Holly as she keeps growing into herself 🤍

Big day out for this little crew on Tuesday — vet check, vaccinations and microchipping all ticked off.

Very happy to say they all passed their health checks with flying colours.

Pip was impressed with how well Apollo is doing. He’s still quite small compared to the rest, but he’s definitely making gains and starting to close that gap now, which I’m pretty chuffed about.

Needles weren’t exactly his favourite part 😅 but he handled it well. My daughter grabbed a few happy snaps while we were there.

Another solid milestone for these guys.

New face. Big future.

We’ve welcomed a beautiful new girl into the Takilberan Border Collies team 🤍

This is Lottie, who has made the trip up from Redrobiena in Victoria and arrived safely today.

She’s already showing just how sweet-natured she is—settling in beautifully and soaking up all the attention like she’s always belonged here.

There’s something quietly special about adding a new girl—not just into the home, but into the future of the program. Watching them grow, finding their place, and becoming part of something you’ve been building… it’s a good feeling.

We’re really looking forward to seeing who Lottie becomes over time. For now, she’s home, she’s loved, and she’s very much one of us already.

Six weeks old yesterday… and honestly, this little crew is right in their sweet spot 🤍

They’re fluffy, full of life, and absolutely thriving—eating well, growing beautifully, and starting to show more and more of who they’re going to be. It’s a pretty special stage.

Even Apollo is starting to close the gap a little, which has been so good to see. He’s still doing things his own way, but there’s definitely been a shift in the right direction.

To celebrate their six-week milestone, they got stuck into some chicken wing tips… and safe to say those tiny teeth got a proper workout 🐾

They’re all booked in for microchipping, vaccinations, and their health checks on Tuesday—should be smooth sailing for this lot. I’ll be especially interested to see what the vet thinks of Apollo’s progress.

For now, we’re just soaking up this stage… because it doesn’t last long and it won’t be long until they’re heading off to their new homes…

Five weeks old… as of Saturday just gone—and I’m only just getting around to celebrating it now 🫣

I did a little photo shoot for their five-week milestone and honestly… these babies are just ridiculous. Chunky, squishy, full of personality, and completely owning this stage of life.

This is where they really start to come into themselves. The confidence is building, the play is getting rougher, and the little quirks are starting to show. Each one of them is becoming their own tiny character.

And Apollo… still our little battler. Smaller, yes—but don’t write him off. He’s cheeky, determined, and right in the middle of it all. He’s got a bit of spark about him.

Next up we’ll be booking vaccinations, microchipping, and health checks—which always feels like things are getting very real, very quickly.

For now though… here’s their five-week milestone, just a few days late but very much worth the wait 🤍
