Urgent Announcement: HomeSafe Microchip Registry Closure
You may have seen recent news and social media posts about the closure of HomeSafeID, a national microchip supplier used by vets and animal shelters for years. With this shutdown, any microchips registered with HomeSafeID will no longer be searchable unless their details are updated to a new registry. This means lost pets with these chips may not be able to be reunited with their owners.
The good news: Our clinic does not use HomeSafeID microchips or its registry. If your pet was microchipped with us, you should have no issues. However, if you’re unsure where your pet’s microchip is registered, it’s important to check and transfer the details if needed. Many pets from breeders or shelters may have HomeSafeID microchips.
