✏️STRAY ANIMALS - POLICY UPDATE ✏️

We want to share a difficult but necessary update with our community.

As an emergency veterinary clinic, our mission is to provide urgent, lifesaving care for the sickest and most critically injured animals. Due to increasing demand and our commitment to delivering the highest standard of emergency care, we regret to inform you that we will no longer be able to help reunite healthy stray animals with their owners from this Friday, 5 September 2025.

To help with this transition, we have put together the following information.

1️⃣ If you find a healthy stray animal:
You can:
Β· Post to the local Lost & Found Facebook groups
Β· Contact Rockhampton Regional Council on (07) 4932 9000 or 1300 225 577
Β· Contact the Livingstone Shire Council on 1300 790 919
Β· Reach out to a local animal rescue and/or veterinary clinic
Please note that these organisations will have their own guidelines and limitations, so please approach them with kindness as they provide advice and work to find a solution that is best for all involved.

2️⃣If you find an injured stray animal:
We will continue to accept injured stray animals and provide veterinary first aid while we try to locate their owner/s. If an injured stray animal requires ongoing treatment outside our operating hours, we will arrange transfer to the RSPCA. To contact the RSPCA’s Rockhampton branch please call (07) 3637 0040 between 9am and 4.30pm (Monday to Saturday) and 10am to 3pm (Sunday).

3️⃣If you find an injured wild animal:
We will continue to accept and provide care for injured wildlife.

Thank you for understanding that by focusing on emergencies we can make sure that the animals in greatest need don’t miss their chance to survive.
