Trinity was a good example of a ‘Grade 1 Dental Calculus’ patient. She had mild to moderate build up of dental calculus with mild associated gingivitis (red inflammation of gums). If a dental scale & polish is performed at this stage no permanent damage has occurred. The longer it is left to progress, the more build up we get below the gum line, and permanent damage begins to occur. On average most patients require a scale and polish by around age 4, then every year or two following this. We aim to make routine maintenance like this as affordable as possible year round, rather than doing a ‘dental month’ with discounts only at some times of year. We do this in attempt to get the best outcomes for our patients mouths!
