❄️ Why winter grooming matters, especially when you’re letting that coat grow!
We always see an increase in matting over the winter period and hope that these tips help with keeping your pup matt free 💖
1. Tangled & matted fur is easier to hide in a long coat. It traps moisture and dirt. Regular brushing helps fluff the coat, remove debris, and prevent painful matting.
2. Skin health needs more attention when indoor heating dries air out. Brushing distributes natural oils, preventing irritation, flakiness, and hotspots.
3. Winter coat + wet paws = potential dirt build-up. Clean paws after a walk to help keep paw pads clear of debris.
4. Longer coats take longer to dry when wet. That means chill risks for pups — regular trims and brushing support faster drying and better insulation.
5. Grooming = bonding time! A calm brushing session helps keep you in sync with changes in their skin, mood, or body.
6. Brush often if you decide to pop a coat on them. Coats can keep your pup nice and warm, but the friction can cause some nasty knots.
