Ladybugs Second ride being re started under saddle. Lady has a full bucket of anxiety issues & her first reaction to anxiety under saddle is to buck, she has successfully bucked a few riders off, Her owner Claire made the right decision to send her to a professional, she started out with a great foundational trainer Rebecca Jayne Goodwin who did a phenomenal job helping her to find relaxation, unfortunately Bec didn’t have the facilities to safely ride a mare like this one.
we had an initial 6 week groundwork program where we started adding pressure & working through dealing with pressure without falling into old habits.
We unearthed the devil red mare within & taught her a way to deal with the devil.
She’s had a 1month break, teeth done and an ulcer treatment and has been back in work for a week to continue her ridden program.
No we do not usually take these sorts of horses on as I am getting too long in the tooth to be stepping on broncs, but this one is a specialty for a special person ❤️ Claire.
Claire is my little assistant trainer & is becoming quite the horsewoman.
And no Claire will not be riding her until we have this mare 100% if we cannot get her there under saddle, she has proven to us that she wants to be a pretty cool liberty pony.

From sh****ad to show horse in 5 weeks 😆 absolutely stoked at the transformation of this ASH gelding. He is ready for the show ring and I have no doubt he would come home with a neck full of ribbons! Cash you are superstar!

Cash learning to carry a whip and ropes & even had a little go at the drag, yesterday was his first time under saddle with a whip this was his first time carrying a rope & dragging a log.
Cash will be heading home soon. Any whip makers that would like to sponsor us I’d be grateful for a new whip, mine is crap & yes he did get an accidental flick on the bum with it 🤦‍♀️

Cash is here on a 6 week working holiday, we are in his 3rd week of training & seeing some massive improvements already. He’s learning to un tangle those legs and drive his body up into a frame. Baby steps 🙏🦄

A couple of days ago I got a message that every trainer dreads, Billie (Metallic Billions) was laid to rest after a bout of colic & some other complications ❤️ our deepest condolences go out to her owners Nik & Dave Falzon.
Billie was a favourite here with us, she was a character and a talented mare that we will sorely miss. Rest in Horsey heaven Billie xx

Fletch has been here with us for another week of pre start handling, learning walk to trot & back to walk transition ques, and he also learned to side pass down the fence & accept a roller, since he has started his week long visits every six weeks he has learned to be rugged, hard tied, stand patient for the farrier and now he is learning some ques in preparation to be ridden later on down the track.
No rush with him as he is not quite 2 yet, but this stage of their handling is the most important part of their training. This is where we set our babies up for life as a well adjusted ridden horse. Correct handling is THE most important start to life.
