This morning we share a little update from behind the scenes ✨
A couple of months ago, we had the privilege of completing one of the most detailed and eye-opening courses we’ve ever taken: Canine Clues for Pain and Discomfort!
This course was truly next level. The ethics behind Dr Findy, Dr Anethea, and Rose’s work resonated deeply with us, their unwavering commitment to positive reinforcement and Fear Free methods is exactly what we stand for. To learn from some of the country’s best in this field was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up 🥹
But this course hit home for us. Eric has been on a journey that’s both tough and humbling, his behaviours and emotions can be big, varied, and sometimes overwhelming. Watching him struggle hard some days is heartbreaking, but with our learning, his amazing new GP Vet and Dr Mel’s guidance, we have him on a solid plan 🐾
While we don’t know how much time we’ll have with him, what we do know is that every day must be filled with the most comfort, kindness, and dignity we can possibly give. No dog should ever have to go through what Eric endured in his first four years and he is our constant reminder of why we expect the level of kindness, positive reinforcement and Fear Free methods we use, always 🫶🏼
He is our biggest reason why we never stop learning, why we collaborate with the best and why we keep pushing the industry forward. Not just for Eric, but for every single dog who walks through our doors and having Dr Mel just a message away to bounce cases off, to guide us, and to stand with us in this work has been a true lifesaver. We couldn’t be more grateful to have her on our side 🥹
Because at the end of the day, our mission has always been simple: to give every dog the comfort, respect, and compassion they deserve 💜
But over these last eight months, that mission has taken on an even greater meaning. Eric’s journey has changed the way we see our work, not just as training and behaviour modification, but as a responsibility to truly listen to the dogs in front of us. To see their subtle pain, to adapt our methods, and to advocate for their welfare in every decision we make ✨
His story has been both the hardest and the most inspiring teacher. It’s the biggest reason why we will never stop learning, never stop refining our approach, and never stop holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards. Because behind every bark, every behaviour, every subtle change in movement, there is a dog asking for understanding and it’s our job to make sure they are heard 🥹
